Speaking of CAIs (and I know your car doesn't have one, Shaun)....I would be ESTATIC to get 15 *repeatable* *real-world* RWHP from such a mod. To say I'm skeptical of such is an understatement, based on many years of racing/dynoing/driving/etc. I believe it to be a worthwhile mod, but I don't buy such dyno gains as being something that shows up in real world, repeated driving/racing experiences, primarily because the numbers have never translated - for me - to the track.

Tuning is a whole nuther story....very good results in that regard.

this is a great post.

I will believe the CAI "mega gain" hype when I install it on my car and run it back to back on the dyno

Well maybe I will get 425RWHP+ and 400ftlb+ with the few modes I was planning. I said that it was doubtfull but it is looking up. Planned on Headers back with X pipe, tune and CAI only.

A 50-ish RWHP gain with typical bolt-ons looks to be a reasonable expectation. Very impressive for this "maxed out from the factory" motor.

It's unfortunate that it wasn't the same dyno. The change in dynos may artificially inflate the difference between the original baseline and the new baseline. I'm personally skeptical that breakin would result in such large gains (+16hp, +31tq).

However, it's entirely possible to go the other way - that there were in fact larger gains, and the change in dyno hides that (I think this extremely unlikely).

Regardless of the breakin numbers - the gains from the tune are very very impressive.

Even getting refered to someone specific in the Steeda Office by a racer that is SPONSORED AND FEATURED by Steeda I couldn't get my calls returned, so I am hesitant to approach Steeda.

Roush on the other hand called me about their CAI, always returns my calls, keeps their appointments and always shows true class in all my dealings with them. HP is not the only factor. Customer service matters.

So Gus and I started talking last week and we worked out my issues with Steeda's customer service. We also came to an agreement on a CAI.

My CAI from Steeda ships today or tommorow I am looking forward to doing my own real world before and after un-biased dyno comparo, stay tuned.............

We ran our bone stock 2011 Mustang on both dynos back to back and the numbers were within 1 hp. That isn't even measurable IMO.

Our G8 GXP baselined 350 RWHP with less than 50 miles and after 1,000 on the same dyno it made 370 RWHP.
