Did you turn the bluetooth on in the iPhone options and make it discoverable?

I couldn't get mine to work. I had to get my Ford salesman cousin to get mine to Sync. He says with my iPhone 4, it won't read my texts. I don't use it much.

Hmmmm. Mine works fine. Maybe reset your phone and then try again?

Did you get sync to broadcast the signal? Sync is not always discoverable. You have to make it discoverable.

Sorry, he got in the driver's seat & did his thing. Sorry, my memories not too good so I don't even pay attention now. Next I knew, he said it's fixed. Do think he only used buttons on steering wheel?

It used to be every say 5th time I got in car I had to go into settings & turn back on BlueTooth setting. Just stopped turning itself off, as much. Now maybe every 12th time now? Only works if I go into settings & turn off BT, then turn back on, then tap connect it. Then BT logo appears on my radio.

I do know on several models they released a sync update. You might check with your local dealer to see if an update is out for your vehicle. There were several bug fixes in the update.

I'm glad you were able to figure it out because the iPhone 4 will definitely pair with SYNC! The iPhone is always "discoverable" so there's no setting that needs to be changed during the pairing process.

eliyarbrough -

You're correct, the text messaging feature is not compatible with the iPhone at this time.

As far as updates go, the latest software versions are as follow:
2010 - 3.1
2011 - 3.2.2
2012- 4.0.2 b

Note: your build date can effect which software version you have regardless of the model year.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.
