Inconsiderate Bastards

I dunno about everyone else, but I generally leave at least one spot between cars if I can help it.

Reminds me how you can go into a parking lot, park in the farthest stall possible so that nobody parks next to you, and then come back to your car only to find that somebody decided to park right next to you instead of parking in any of the other 20+ open stalls that would have been a much shorter walk.
...AND they ding'ed your car with their door too.

First drive back with 'Stang from the dealership, we stopped to this gas station in a small town out in the middle of nowhere . Parked so that i would have enough distance between my car and the other car for opening doors without having to worry about getting my door bangned at. First thing i know, come back out of store and there is this other car parked right next to mine with it's rear passenger door fully opened and almost coming in contact with side mirror. Lady was in the backseat changing her baby's diaper with door opended up. She missed the mirror by a freakin' inch. And the most scary part, she never noticed it. HOW DO I KNOW, well Chris told her it was a close call. She just said: oh, i'm so sorry. Yeah right. He was taking pics of the car at the same time. Can you believe that.

No matter how much you try to keep your car clean and spotless their are so many inconsiderate people in the world its futile sometimes. Took my daughter to baseball practice. They had it in front of the town library. We all parked in the town parking lot. Doesnt this town employee start cutting the grass right in front of all the parked cars blowing wet grass all over everyones car. Could have killed the guy. Just what i wanted to do at 8pm is go home and wash my car i just washed yesterday.
People are just A**holes most of the time.

A few in every town

dan, i had that years ago.. someone at work gave it to me.. i made a bunch of copies and left them in my car..
like others i usually parked farther than normal away from everyone..
but when i came out there was usually 3-4 cars all around mine with like 20+ spaces closer to entrances.. ..
i ran out of those "fliers" real quick.. and stuck them to the windshield

Your car won't catch cooties from another car. It's only bad if they open their door into you. Having another conscientious driver parked next to you could be a service.

Here's one theory. Someone has a nice car (A) and sees another nice car (B) by itself in a lot. Driver A thinks to himself, "Driver B has a nice car he cares about. I'll do him a favor and park next to him so no one else will open their door into his car, at least on the one side. Furthermore, Driver B won't carelessly open his door into mine."

It's just a process with a huge amount of variables. If you park all alone you can also draw attention, or one of those runaway shopping carts too. You know the ones blown by the wind with a full head of steam that nobody cares to stop.

I've done this. I'd rather park next to a 'nice' car than a beater anyday.
It's just a process with a huge amount of variables. If you park all alone you can also draw attention, or one of those runaway shopping carts too. You know the ones shoved directly into your car by some ***** who's jealous you have a nicer car than them.

In all seriousness though, the parking horror tales do suck. Not everyone out there cares about their cars the way we do, and a whole heck of a lot of people out there certainly aren't as respectful. We just have to live with it and do whatever is reasonable to avoid "situations."
All that said... that mickey note is near priceless!

hahah oh man, the "far away parking" I can so relate to it. I just want to know why people need to park next to our cars when we've clearly gone out of our way to avoid being next to other cars. It's almost comical. Even other Mustang owners do it! they don't leave 2 spaces, nope, gotta be RIGHT next to yours. I remember coming out of a grocery store to see a great looking Vista Blue mustang parked next to my black one... and the other 3 cars that apparently decided to park next to us.
I'm actually interested in the psychology of it all. Do they want a good look at the car that walking past doesn't give them? Does parking next to our cars somehow make them think their car is safer because "they'll steal that first"? Are they touched in the head? I'd love to hear some actual reasons.
Love the Mickey sign, but I'd like a preventative one. Something like: "Warning! Biohazard Waste On Board. Stay Back without proper safety gear."

Right next to them? I mean, I've parked next to Mustangs, Challengers, Corvettes and what have you, but I've always left a space between us if at all possible.

Today, just washed my Mustang. Some guy was mowing his grass and i had to drive through a very large cloud of dust. Had to rinse off and dry my car when i got home.

Heheh "catch cooties". Yeah I know, but doors have a knack of "breaking free" from someone's control. And even if someone is being generous (Which, I admit, I hadn't considered someone being a "shield") and is being a Shield Car... their door could have other ideas and they could end up being the exact thing they're trying to help avoid.
Right next to them? I mean, I've parked next to Mustangs, Challengers, Corvettes and what have you, but I've always left a space between us if at all possible.

I think it's pretty cool when I see a few Mustangs parked close to each other. Almost like it's an "exclusive Mustang parking area." I also follow the "philosophy" of parking next to "newer" or "expensive" cars because I feel that they would be more careful with how they get in and out of their car with respect to the car next to them. But if the spaces are tight to the point where I can't open my door almost fully open, I give a space or more.

I swear my county has tabs on me, everytime I get a new car it oftens seems they tear up a random road and start paving it. Any other time of year the cops could be parked inside one of the potholes and they would go unfixed. But this time gets the cake, the day after I brought the stang home. they litteratlly tore up the main road I live off of, in both directions for about a total stretch of 5 miles mother f2#@#@

I always park way out away from everyone and I park at an angle taking two spaces. I know it's a sort of a-hole thing taking two spaces but it's way out away from everyone else and there are always other spaces for people to park closer to the door.
Even so, I went to home depot a while back and when I came out to my car there was a shopping cart wedged up under my side mirror on the drivers side and a scratch down the door where they has shoved the cart against it.
There are some people in the world that don't deserve to be let out in public, total waste of skin and flesh.
If I had caight the sorry bastard doing that to my car I would be in prison right now for MURDER!!!

Kind of like "friends with benefits"

I wouldn't mind other mustangs parking next to mine. I parked next to one at school last fall cause I knew I'd be ok, but they'd never park next to me, only some other odd car. Next semester they were in another lot.
