I walked away believe it or not
Glad you're ok. I got T-boned in my Boxster S that had a lot of options also. I had the same initial problems that you did but cleared them up and received a fair settlement by being nice and persistant.
You need to go up the chain to a supervisor above whomever you are dealing with. My wife worked at State Farms Claims and says that the best settlements were always won by the people who were polite but persistant.
it is their job to make this right for you. That's what you've been paying all those premiums for. Talk to the main supervisor and politely remind them how long you have been a customer and how much property you have insured with them. Gently remind them that if you cannot trust them to work with you on a fair settlement on this, how can they expect you to remain a customer.
Oh and just sayin....

I am going with an all new color this time.
I have my dealer picking up a 2013 Black GT/CS on Thursday from a dealer out of State. Right now it sits in the dealer Showroom with 9 miles on the odometer. My dealer is picking it up on a trailer they dont rack the miles on it.
I just have to settle with my Insurance Company and I will have my check cut to me. Just a bit more nudging and I will be where I want with them. Im looking to pick the new car up next week.
I am very excited to say the least.
This will be a manual 6 speed, I havent driven a manual on a regular basis for over 25 years and I am looking forward to the fun factor all over again.
Ooh Id love that Gt500 only thing is I think I have a bad omen with Blue cars, My 07 Vista Blue hit a deer causing over $5000 in repairs on my way to work and now my 2012 Kona got totalled on my way to work.

First off, glad you walked away from this. The Mustang certainly shows worse than how you feel!
I ran into a simular thing about aftermarket parts being covered with my sons truck. He added wheels/tires, a stereo system, and som engine dress up goodies. Because we did not add them to our policy (the "good hands" people), they would not include them in his payoff (his truck was totaled). In Florida, it's a "no fault" state, so each insurance company pays out to their policy owner, and then the insurance company goes after whomever was "at fault" based on the police report to recoop their payout.
We estimated he lost about 5 grand on that accident that was not his fault. Rule we learned? Check with your agent to verify any aftermarket or accessory you add is covered.
Better luck with the new Mustang!

I told my wife that too....she laughed.
NEW MUSTANG
Well My new California Special is sitting at my dealer now. I got an email from them saying it was delivered yesterday.
**** I wish I didnt have to work today or I would pick it up. I dont get my insurance check until Wednesday but my dealer would front me the money if I wanted to get it today. As much as I would like to do it that way I have to resist the urge.
So with the Holidays coming I will not be picking it up until Thursday :-(
