But either way, I look at it as if I have a 1 in 25 shot of winning. If I win, I'll be really happy. If not, well, I'll still be happy that my story made it to the finals.
+1. I probably haven't been as excited as I was when I found out I made it into the finals since the day I got my mustang. lol

Hi,

I'm the one with the apparently large "social network" that everyone is talking about. I've been involved in the Mustang community for about eight years now and have been actively administering 3.8mustang.com for close to five. I was just as excited as everyone else when I found out I was one of the finalists and asked my community to help me win, just as others have done.

Of course, the actions of others are outside of my influence. I asked repeatedly in that thread for members to follow the rules and participate fairly. The official rules for the contest state clearly that duplicate votes will not be counted and that persons doing the double voting will be disqualified from voting/participating in the contest - which is obviously of no help to me.

Anyway, that's really all I wanted to say. I've been following this thread for a few days now and wanted to wish all the participants the best of luck. I really hope that the car goes to someone deserving and active in the community that will enjoy it.

Thank you for the clarification. I dont think that anyone here has any animosity towards you, just concern for how this is all playing out. We do like to root for the home team! Congratulations on making it to the finals and good luck.

Well, one thing we all have in common is that we're Mustang enthusiasts. So I think it's a pretty safe bet that the winner will be "one of us" to some extent.

Ford should have a contest like this every year!

So now we have what, four or five of the final 25 contestants posting in this thread? I just joined this forum because of this particular thread about the contest, but I'm a member of three other Mustang forums...

I hang out mostly at 3.8mustang.com, and occasionally v6power.net. I used to have a 2000 Atlantic Blue V6, but had to sell it awhile ago to get a more family friendly car (I have a two year old daughter). How great it would be to have a Mustang again!

Thats cool. I would much rather have a two year old daughter than a mustang!Until, I was at the drag strip.

She is indeed the light of my life. Of course, having both would be that much better....

What a cutie! Yeah, having a mustang is great, but having a family is greater! What kind of family car did you end up getting?

The current family rig is a 2006 Toyota RAV4. Not exactly inspiring transportation, but it gets the job done.

Good gas mileage and relatively good history of quality. I saw mountains in the background of your daughter's pic, are you out west? Do you need the 4wd there?

Yes, that picture was taken at Lake Tahoe. We live in the Sacramento, CA area and make frequent trips to the mountains for skiing (less frequent the past two years, but we've managed to get up there a few times).

The RAV4 gets pretty good gas mileage, so it should save you some money for that next stang or that next child.

I'm not saying any of them are, I don't know them at all. But if you were Ford and were unvailing a Mustang with as much anticipation as this, wouldn't you take a good look at the winner before letting them know.
That didnt stop that excon from winning the lottery

What should be done is have an email sent to said address. From there they would give you a password, and you had to log in that way. This means that everyone voting would have to have access to their email address. Cookies would also be given which restrict it to each computer (which would suck for family members who share computers, but they were really that passionate they could just delete the cookie. All of this just makes it a little bit more difficult to cheat. But to be honest, with the way eprize runs things that may have caused more chaos

Have you given her one of these yet?

Im actually surprised Ice Hawk won. I mean, I knew he would being that story location does help, he was the first one listed, but after seeing the "huge social network" I didnt think anyone on TMS had a chance. And the winner will be notified "on or around the 31st" They sure didnt wait at all. Poll closed midnight, and then 17 hours later we find out. I doubt they looked at any IPs at all if there was any cheating (not saying there was)

Thanks? Actually, my mother knew that I had won before I did. I received the email around 0945EST on 29OCT2008. That means it took only nine hours from close of polls to notify the winner. That's even worse. I didn't find out til 0020 30OCT2008 here in Iraq.
