I did it...test drove the new S550, my thoughts compared to my 12
The thread is played out. Even when posters do give their opinion of the S550 you don't really want to hear it. You've already made up your mind about what you think about the two cars and no opinion given here will have any affect on your point of view. Conversations move from point to point and subject to subject. It's the nature of human social interaction. I already gave you my point of view on the S550 and you didn't want to hear it so now I'm talking to XTC. There's plenty of space here for other posters to leave their opinion on the car if they so choose. Not that it will matter because you don't really want to hear them.
My apologies Burton. I didnt mean to **** you off. Im not trying to stir the pot, i just wanted to throw a few points out in the open in a very friendly non confrontational way so you know where i was coming from. Im sorry that you felt the need to PM the mods and get offended. That was not my intention what so ever. Everyone has made contributions as you have requested (that were not exactly appreciated or taken into account) so im not sure what it is that you want from us. This topic has been debated numerous times. The majority of us have driven the S550 and made threads on it many times much prior to this. I hate to say it, and im not trying to antagonize, but yours is not anymore special. I like your threads, so i post in them and say what i have to say. Many times its ignored and disregarded but hey thats cool, im not upset nor do i have any issues with you or anyone else on here. I just want to point out that when you make a thread you invite an open discussion to this board and its members. You cant get upset when people start talking to one another. Thats like throwing a party to invite your friends to watch the game, then 1) getting mad at your guests because they conversed with each other more than they conversed with you or 2) they didnt converse with you enough about the game to extent you had in mind. Threads always take a certain direction. If things dont go your way, no need to involve emotions. Like i say, its the internet, dont take it too seriously. I admit its hard to tell people's tones via text on a computer screen. Im not an angry type person, im very laid back and open. At no point was i trying to give off a confrontational vibe. I simply like to discuss interesting topics with my fellow enthusiasts given the opportunity. Everything is cool man, we were just talking and messing around. Of course there are certain rules, and i respect that. I respect the moderation on these forums and i feel the staff does their job better than all the other forums. Thats why i continue to come here and make contributions and why i continue to be a member after 5 years. Thats all man, once again, im not trying to start another debate or anything, just wanted to explain where i was coming from. I felt i owed you an apology so thats why i posted this. Have a good and a safe weekend guys.
While these are not my observations, I'd thought I'd share it. My parents, who are in their 70s, are considering buying a new car. After a recent drive in my car, they are considering a 15 mustang. They have recently only bought SUVs as their cars. They love the power of my car but felt the ride was way too harsh. I have modified most of suspension. I explained this but they seem unimpressed by this.
They liked the ride and interior of the new mustang. My mom lost her left quadricep to cancer so she is limited to autos and felt that it shifted well. It is on her short list now that includes offerings from BMW and Mercedes. A little bit of background, in the late 60s she owned a cougar with all the go fast bells and whistles. So she isn't a eurosnob that doesn't get muscle cars. She seemed to see more of the classic mustang dna in it than I do. She also said it reminded her of those times. It's just a grown up version of those cars. I thought I would share.

The issue I had was with you and another going on back and forth for pages, And pages on something else that really had no value., esp to the topic at hand. I've seen those back and forth banter before and it NEVER ends well. Don't fall prey to those people.
But thanks man, I appreciate your last post. It's all good.

Hope it picks up now that winter is about over! Hate that sites like mustang6g have to pop up when there's already at least five good Mustang boards, but somebody wants to feel special and try to sell some cheap banner ads.

But go ahead - kill the forum for good.
