How to Raise the Front of the Car
I'm going to post this here to see if I get more responses.
I put in Boss 302 coil springs all around and Koni Yellow struts. I used the struts for 05 - 09 cars with the GT500 strut mounts.
The car, of course, dropped in the front, and only slightly in the back to produce the same rake the Boss 302 has.
But I am finding that the front is too low (scrapping), and I am not liking the rake either.
Looking for solutions. I like the increased spring rate of the Boss coils, so I would rather not put the old ones back in.

If Roush offers 1/2" rear springs? that might be just enough to level out your car and raise your front end. Otherwise, if they don't offer 1/2" rear springs, look into 1 inch instead

I say stop messing around and get a suspension system designed for the car. Roush does make a 1/2" drop kit for the S197. Instead of a custom Frankenstein creation get a kit actually designed to work well together. Your handling will thank you.

You can just get the springs also.

Sigh .... no one listens...
I DO NOT WANT a drop. I want to have the increased spring rates, but not the drop. I hate the scrapping I'm getting over steep transitions with the drop I currently have and want it raised back to stock WITHOUT reverting back to the stock springs.
never mind. ...

I see 3 options without lowering the rear to level the car:
1) Put the stock springs back in and lose the higher rates to get stock ride height.
2) Buy custom springs with the increased rate, but stock length.
3) Since you used the 2005-2009 GT 500 mounts you are a little lower than you would have been with struts/mounts for the 2010-2014 cars. You can switch struts and mounts to the newer design and get back part of the drop and keep your springs.

Thanks for the input guys.
I am leaning towards putting the front stock springs back in. MAYBE I'll trade the front Konis for 10 - 14 and use the Boss 302 strut mount (I think they are a harder rubber?)
Funny I can find these:

But nothing for S197

OK, I am about ready to throw some money at this but not until I know for certain it will work:
Siber,
I think I will exchange the Konis I currently have on there for 11-14 Konis and the Boss 302 mounts but not finding confirmation on a couple things. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough ...
1) are the 07 - 09 GT500 strut mounts causing lowering for sure?
2) are the Boss 302 strut mounts any better than the stock mounts?

I never did the GT500 Mounts, but seems like everywhere I read they were 1/2 inch lower than the stock mounts on the 11-14 Mustang.
The 302 mounts are a little tighter than the stock, I have those on mine and got the call from Tasca that they won't fit my car when I ordered them, they fit.
BTW here is another option, supposed to be 1 inch with what you have now

I've been looking for that, Siber! Couldn't find anything to fit the S197.
that certainly is the cheapest way to go!
Do you think I'll lose any road feel? It's either this or do the front suspension all over again

You might loose a little around the frost heaves. I had something similar on my 73 Cougar since it went to low when we cut the springs and it actually still handles quite well. And Truthfully I think they were Mr Gasket also, got them at Super Shops when they were the Performance store to go to.
