How many owners here have 2011 GT Convertibles?
It is about time to place my order and we are going to get a vert (2012) however I would like to see some pictures of your cars please
.
I will get it loaded with Nav, prem GT, brembo's and all the goodies. I am leaning towards Black with the brick red interior but would like to see other colors as well if you don't mind sharing pictures.
Thanks!

Congrats!! Here are the photos of mine (over in the "by color" forum under "Performance White"):

I still have plans to put some kind of blue striping on it. Haven't yet settled on a brand/vendor/color...
There is definitely something magical about flipping those latches and pressing that top-down button!
Be sure to get some kind of aftermarket exhaust - it's all the better when the top is off!

Thanks guys. I didn't want to get one and thought I was deadset to get the hardtop with the glassroof but the wifey and 2 children like to go for rides and living down south I can enjoy the top down all year round especially since I work out of the house and only go into the office once a month.
I am excited to get the order placed and hopefully have the car the first of March 2011!!
Double-EDad - the white looks really good on these cars!! I love it!

Congrats! I'm sure you're gonna love the convertible, esp living down south.
This is my first 'vert and I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it!
Sounds just like mine except I have sterling grey with black interior.
Here are some pics for you:
2 pics
3 more
3 artsy ones
artsy interior
PS I'd recommend getting the cloth roof option as well.

So make sure you're getting the 'vert for the right reasons. Also, test drive a coupe and a vert side-by-side to be sure you can live with the decreased (by over 50%) stiffness of the convertible, as well as the softer shocks, which some have described as "floaty". There is an FRPP handling kit out there which I've heard fixes the floating issue, but if I had to do it again, I'd have gotten a Brembo coupe with 3.73. I still love my 'vert, I just would have gone a different way if I had it to do over.
BTW, on the 3.73 rear diff note, all convertible GTs are constrained to a 3.31 rear gear only. To change to 3.55 or 3.73 or other, you will need to buy the ring & pinion from FRPP and swap those out with your 3.31, THEN get a FRPP or aftermarket tune to re-calibrate your speedometer. Just sayin, be aware.

Um, have you actually talked to your wifey about the top-down aspect? I too thought my wife & girls would love riding with me in the 'vert, but only AFTER I bought and they rode in it once or twice did they tell me they didn't much care for riding in it any more. It's a hair thing, I didn't understand.

Interesting on the suspension differences even with the Brembo package? It is that big of difference? I won't be taking this car on road courses or anything outside of maybe some spirited driving every now and again.
I am sure I would go for the FRPP suspension upgrade as I read that one guy on here with the Kona vert had it put on and he raved about it.
I would likely go the 3.73 route and have my dealer put them in as they are a performance shop installer as well.
For all you vert owners - is the suspension really that soft on these cars? Just curious....
I have long hair, and it's not a problem. Nothing a hat or ponytail holder can't fix, and hardly worth missing the experience of top down driving!
Here's ours: https://themustangsource.com/f726/2-...-panel-486762/
I wanted Brembo as well, but didn't want to order. I'll probably end up with the SVT PP wheels in the end. The red interior is nice, but I can't wrap my mind around the steering wheel. I went with the dark charcoal and am going to install a chamois color Katzkin setup

I love the music loud and the exhaust roaring, just cannot be beat!!
I love the SVTPP wheels as well and will likely end up on my car at somepoint unless I go with some booze or something similiar.
Your car looks great! Are you happy with how the car rides and handles in stock form?
Yes I love it. My last vert was dropped on Tokico Dspecs and Eibach pro kit, had control arms, STB, etc. It looked incredible, but on 20s, rode like Archie's jalopy lol. Now that I am getting older and grouchier
I just want to relax!
Sure, it's a little sloppy when I push her through the corners compared to my last ride, but for 90% of my driving, it's perfect. Still waaaay more capable in stock form against my '07!

Here's my vert- I did upgrade the suspension and installed RTR wheels- this is a Brembo car, handles like it's on rails. One of these days I'm going to get some non-phone camera shots...

and before suspension/ tint/ bra, etc:

car nut. that is just plain awesome.
Yep my wife and I had a 2001 cobra convertible so this will be our 2nd one and she is great with driving around and her hair flying. The kids have been in verts before and they love them (my dad has 3 different convertibles).

I wouldn't have cared, except my dealer gave me a 2010 GT coupe to drive while my car was in for service. Once I experienced that, it recalibrated me!
At least one former M3 owner on this forum got the FRPP handling pack installed on his 2011 'vert and said that mod "made a world of difference." So there's a solution out there (if you decide later that you want it) - -No worries! As for me, I have no more money, so I am standing pat on what I have, which is a great car by just about any measure!
