how does the 401a leather wear

compared to the regular 400a? Anyone with experiences on this? I got the black with cashmere and hope it wears well.

I was wondering the same thing. While at the dealer today, I noticed how much softer & smoother the 401a leather looked. But dor that mean it's going to wear quicker than the grainier 400a seats?

Leather wear is one the reasons I chose 400 over 401a. In every pic I've seen the smooth leather in 401a is already creased and wrinkled. The 400a leather is perforated and pre-creased...

I got the 401 and it is a lot softer and nicer than my 08 had. Leather if treated right will last years so get what you want and dont worry about it. If you sit on it with keys in your back pocket or eat your sonic buger with crap clogging the leather up it wont last log no way

I've always been real concerned about the lifetime of my leather in the Cobra. I never drive without wearing gloves to avoid getting oils and dirt on the Alcantara and leather. I don't wear my knife on my belt or my wallet in my back pocket when I'm driving her either. I'm very very picky when it comes to preserving everything as well as possible. I figure if I treat her well for her lifetime, she will return the favor. As well, I condition my leather once a month but it already has wrinkles and creases on the drivers left-hand side. My back seats (which nobody EVER sits in) and the passenger seat (which is rarely sat in) doesn't have any wrikles. It's very soft and nice leather, but it doesn't wear even or well.

I got the 400, i liked the look better. I would have gotten the 401 if it was all black. I would worry about the leather, i would get what style you like the best., 400 or 401. Ronn

The 401A looks like the old S197 V6 Leather. No perfs and large smooth panels ... Too bad there is no way to get the Charcoal panels with the 400 Leather ...

You can over condition it and clog it worse than any oils from you hands would ever do. Leather wrinkles when you sit on it plan and simple.

Remember, almost every OEM leather is plastic-coated and sealed for durability/stain-proofing etc. You should use a vinyl-care product or some 303 protectant that will work much better on the plastic finish than a oily leather conditioner made for "naked" leather.

I use a product our BMW came with to use on the leather in it, on my Honda, and it looked so much better and more rich. It's not like an armor all product, it just moisturizes the leather to bring out the best look and feel of the leather. Granted a) my Honda has near 200K on it so the leather is not going to look incredible, b) the BMW's leather is in another class and feels and looks crap-loads better than the Accords. Anyway, I hope to keep using a product like this to keep my leather feeling and looking like the day I bought it. Or as close as possible.

Whatever they used in the SVT Contour is what they should be using forever. I have never seen leather wear as well as it is in this car. You'd never know it was 10 years old.
