Any ideas why? i did 2 Kam resets and it starts back at 325 but drops like a rock back to 190. Car is feels faster then my old modded 2011 in stock form but again 190 is nothing to laugh about for a stock car while others are pulling 100 extra miles then me.

any ideas before going to the dealer would be great
Unfortunately, all of the above sounds about the same for my car also.
I keep track of my mileage on www.fuelly.com and out of 12 fill-ups so far, I've only gotten over-200 miles out of a tank twice, and both of those tanks were mostly highway, averaging about 70 mph.

Most of the time, I have to get gas at about 165-175 miles into the tank.

I have to get gas tomorrow, as a matter of fact, since I'm barely over a 1/4 tank now and I don't remember exactly, but I think I'm showing about 165 miles on the odometer

Maybe try increasing your tire pressures by +2 psi. Run that for a few days (or a tankfull, at the rate you're going...), then increase another +2 psi. It's free, and might help!

Obviously make sure all 4 tires are at the same pressure, while you're at it.

Only get 14 mpg in the city on my 2012 5.0 Mustang. I "try" to drive nice but I like to drive spirited.

And an intake will increase horsepower with a tune. Perhaps the person who said it was a bling mod meant an intake without a tune.

2700 miles on mine and gas mileage is slowly improving. Was around 14, then 15, now 16mpg. Not really driving it any differently. Some occasional hooning but a good 50/50 mix of city/hwy driving.

Talking

Have a 13 GT 3.73 MT.
1500 miles so far.

City, stop and go driving I get around 13mpg +/- 1 depending on how much I hammer on it. That hasn't seemed to change from brand new until now.

Highway driving at 71/72 mph new was about 20mpg. Each tank it seems to climb a small amount (.1 to .3 mpg). At 1500 miles I now get 23.8mpg. All of these trips were at least 100 miles, and 23.8 is best to date. I don't expect it to improve much more, and if it does I'm sure it's reaching a point of diminishing return. To be honest I will be thrilled pink with 24 - 25mpg highway. Something with this much power, running AC, and so on shouldn't be expected to return this much mpg.

I think the smiles/mpg ratio is pretty high! (JMHO)

Also, one thing nobody's mentioned: E10 is the type of gas we get to use around here .... 10% ethanol. Ethanol is not as efficient as regular gasoline, and I really wish that we weren't forced to buy this stuff. I'd much prefer 100% gasoline, with no Ethanol in it.

One of the car rags with a long term test '13 5.0 was getting 16 combined. Sounds about right.

Stop resetting the KAM. You keep erasing the pcm's adaptive learning and starting all over with preset stategy tables not optimize for mileage.

Any time your stopped or idling that overall mileage number is going to drop quickly. Are your rpm's near 2000 at highway speed? Probably not for 70 mph for 3.73 gearing. Less rpm, more fuel mileage.

theres a 40 page thread at modfords about every intake. the most power made was 5hp and it was steeda. CAI is a waste of money and its proven on the dyno, and at the texas mile at speeds of 170+

im sorry but theres data to back it all up, stock box hold better pressure, hell if anything taping the hood seemed to have helped a bit, Heck Shaun@AED did 10's with a a stock box

Huh. I have a '13 GT500, SVTPP w/ only 1300 miles. I usually drive spirited and get ~14 as expected. On Labor Day weekend I was granny shifting on the highway at 65 due to traffic and got 24. I would expect the 5.0's to do much better. I was getting 19 with spirited driving in my '10 GT.

You said NO boost in power in one post. Then said the Steeda only made 5hp more in another post. I'm not going to argue with the efficiency of the factory intake, and the fact that most these people are seeing HP increase from the tune itself, and not the aftermarket CAI. However, you just cancelled yourself out. An increase of 5hp is still an increase.

After 2,250 miles on my '13 I get around 12 MPG.
Almost all of it spirited city driving.

When I am on the Freeway it goes up to as much as 14 MPG lol...

Gotta love the V8 Beast!

I would cry if my MPG was so low, but I'm sure the fun makes up for it haha.

I was between the stang and the 2004 CTS-V and they're rated at 14mpg city, imagine real world MPG on em, probably 10s!
