I will be getting these:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/black-hoodstrut-1012.html

When I'm in position to also get the Cobra R hood for Awesome. Or before, I may just put them on the current hood because(tm).

Reason: Nothing more than the bracket is better designed in my opinion to hold up the hood when it's opening, so there's less possiblity of bouncing/bending that might happen at the top of the other, similar brackets out there, which are shorter, and therefore have more hood hanging above them, so the bouncing/bending potential is higher.

I also do NOT want a big strut rod in the middle of the engine bay opening like those mid mounted ones provide, as it'd be in my way, so the more compact version is desired.

For whatever that is worth to anyone.

I bought the same, pretty much for the same reasons you stated. I painted them red, cause I like red trim with the SGM, and installed them by myself, with no problems whatever. I am well satisfied.

I have the MMD's and had no problems with hood alignment. I also have a set of Ford Racing struts. I forgot where I got them and cannot find them now. I plan on putting those on in the future at some point.

Redline on mine since new, and couldn't be happier.

Just one tip, if you go Redline, don't overtighten the part that attaches to the hood- you can snap it (Redline sent me a new piece, and you really do not have to make it more than snug).

I have the MMD version. I saw them online, and didn't know about any other offerings at the time, so I immediately bought them. Put them on easily enough by myself, and have had them on for more than a year now with no problems.
