Hide-A-Key Options

Anyone using a hide a key? If so, which one? I bought an extra large from home depot that was not big enough for our key

do you carry a pocket knife? If so you can use a zip tie to attach a key that way. Lots of places under the car to zip tie to. I've been wondering about your user name and where nova is??

What about the weather getting to the key since it has the fob built in

Have you considered getting a non-electronic copy made? The car door probably doesn't care about any of the electronics, I know my old V6 didn't. A simple mechanical copy of the key was enough to the get the door open, it just wouldn't be able to start the engine. Works pretty well if you just locked your keys in, and even better if someone does somehow find the key they can only get to the interior. Better than them being able to drive off with the car.

I used a magnetic one year's ago that carried a key and also a $50 bill for emergencies.

Apparently while driving through a bit of snow, it got caught up and removed from the car somewhere along the road. Major bummer LOL.

I was thinking aboutthis option and then just hiding an electronic key in the trunk or in the car where nobody could find it.

Get a keyless entry pad and mount it on the cowl below the windshield? http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/...7L2Z_14A626_BA

This is what I did as I've gotten in the habit of locking keys in my F150 that has the keyless entry.

I've just got a plain $1 hardware store key hidden on the outside of all my cars ... only time I ever need it is when I lock my keys inside so it does not need to be a PATS type key.

If your concerned with lost or misplaced keys when you are away from home, then I suppose an additional hidden PATS key somewhere INSIDE the car would be a simple way to resolve this possible situation.

Extra PATS key can be a "plain" without the remote head ... I had my dealer make me TWO of these after my car arrived ... much cheaper way to do extra ignition keys !!
