Help! 3M Adhesion Promoter?

I'm ready to install the Roush Rocker Splitter Kit on my Stang, which are sitting in my garage for a few weeks now. Now I can't seem to find the 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter they are calling for in their installation instructions.

For those who installed this kit, is it necessary to actually have the adhesion promoter? What brand/product did you use?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I always use that same adhesion promoter before applying any 3M tape just to be sure it adhere's properly. Where have you looked as I had no problem finding it at my local (small town) autobody supply store.

If you are not in a huge hurry, send me a PM with your shipping info and I will send you a couple packs in the mail. I was in a huge hurry for some last year and had to buy the entire box (local store was closed for the weekend), so I have more than I will ever use.

I checked any and all auto supply stores, including NAPA, AutoZone and Avanced Auto, and called a few more local supply stores. Found one, who only sells in large quantities (almost wholesale) and sells the promoter in boxes of 25, which would run me around $ 70. Really don't want to spend that much money... there must be an easier/cheaper way.

Should be able to get it from a Body Shop Supply store, I just saw it on the 3M rack when I was picking up my paint for my Spoiler last week.
Reminds me I need to pick some up also.

You should also be able to use Alcohol to clean it , but the Adhesion promoter does work better.

I guarantee you that NAPA can order it for you from the local warehouse, they can get anything that 3M makes.
