Heater/Ac issues 2010 V6

Hey guys sorry if I post in wrong spot I'm new and on mobile app and thought this was the place.

Anyways here is the deal. I have a 2010 V6 5-speed steed and my ac and heater were not working. My temp gauge on my dash would show over heating and I checked and it wasn't. I replaced the coolant temp sensor just today and the ac works great now, still no heat. I'm not wanting to dive too deep too fast. I have seen it might be the vents not switching for the air to go over the heat core or it might be the heat core is clogged or with this new sensor and them gauge in dash working fine now might fix itself. This is my first stang and I really wouldn't know how to check the vents switching ( tried the hole leave car off but on and switching temps but to no avail couldn't tell ) so I have no idea how to fix that or if it is more likely it is the heat core. Any tips tricks or help of any kind is greatly appreciated.
