The header manufacturer for my Acura said they had begun receiving a spike in these requests from owners, presumably due to the CARB ***** increasing their "surveillance" of those felonious headers..
My Acura (mostly stock, very clean) had passed two inspections till it popped this last go around... Headaches, hassles and more money spent for a second unnecessary check due to the pinheads at CARB...

I plan on moving back after I retire, will go live up in the foot hills or mountains. Really the only places you have to worry about this crap is the overly populated areas. I think my home town is one of the bi-annually areas, so after the first 6 years you just got to bolt some stock parts on every other for a smog. Of course after that long they might have some CARB approved stuff.

If you live out in the boonies, there are no smog checks
