Headrest compatibility

Hello, I've read a few threads about how the headrest are adjustable front to back, but mine on my 2011 GT/CS are only adjustable up and down. My question is, are the headrests from an S550 compatible with the S197 cars? My headrests have got to go and I want to replace them with the ratcheting models. Thanks!

Is there a reason you would want the S550 headrest as opposed to the later S197 headrest (late '12 to 14) ?

Not really. Just figured Ford would have fixed this by the time they made the S550 models. Maybe they're nicer? I have been a Chevy guy for most of my life so I'm new to Mustangs.

I don't know about the S550 headrests, but the late '12 to 14 S197 headrests will fit a 2011. The trick is finding the correct part number to match your interior (interior code will help). There's also the MRT headrests, but they only had four positions of tilt. The Ford ones have about 15 or so clicks.

This thread had pics of both:
