Have you trained SYNC?

I was messing around with the NAV yesterday and noticed the option to create a voice profile in SYNC. It took about 10 min to do, but after I did it's even more accurate than before when recognizing voice commands.

Just thought I'd let you guys know in case you were having problems with SYNC understanding your voice. Maybe this will help a little...

Cheers

Does this option exist in the non-nav sync? I've been trying to find it (my F150 had it), but I can't. Sync started out poretty good, but the last few weeks she hasn't been able to understand anything.

I'm not sure, but I'd assume it would be there. Maybe one of the forum SYNC reps can answer. Have you checked the user guide?

This is my understanding: Sync needs no training. The voice recognition software for the navigation system is actually separate from Sync. It's not quite as advanced the Sync software and can benefit from a little training, which is why it is an option for navigation but not for Sync.

With the Ford vehicles that have My Ford Touch and My Lincoln Touch, I think the programming is more advanced and can recognize more commands. In those, perhaps the voice recognition program for Sync and Nav is the same.

I got tired of asking for the phone and getting the A/C come on an the like and remembered about the training feature. It only takes a few minutes but what a difference. Now I ask for "phone call XXX" and away we go!!

So many times I've said, "Call Heidi Cell" only to have that b!tch reply with, "Calling Budd."

So I've learned to make sure my windows are all the way up and that I'm not getting on the gas while using voice commands.

Hey, everyone!

Here, I am! RandyW & Adam are correct, this is a feature only available for navigation-equipped Mustangs.

For those of you who have nav and want to check it out, follow these steps:

1. Press the MENU hard button on the navigation system.
2. Select the FEEDBACK SETTINGS tab on the touchscreen.
3. Select EDIT.
4. Select CREATE to create either Profile 1 or Profile 2.
5. Follow the voice prompt instructions.

Thanks for sharing, stangfoeva! Looks like MustangGTPilot, benefited from it.

VTXFrank -

Try getting her to "Play Track Creep" and see what her options are. It's pretty hilarious.
