The GT500 exhaust was my first mod on my 2013 GT. Exact fit and perfect sound for me. Paid $285 delivered and installed myself in one hr. 1/2014

Hello James. I know you directed your question to Todd, but I'd like to answer. I have a 2011 GT, with GT500 mufflers, and resonator delete. No drone at any speed. None.

Thanks.
On a scale of 1 to 10
1 being stock mufflers where would you put the GT 500 mufflers alone and where would you put GT500 with resonator delete.

Hey Pete,
I have a similar question. I have a set of GT500's still in a box waiting for install in late March or early April (whenever the polar vortex decides to get the $%*& out).
Part of my reason for upgrading mufflers is because when I take my car to the track I can't hear when it's about to redline. I've bounced off the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd simply because I expect the engine to SCREAM when at 6500rpm, and with the stock mufflers it doesn't. At least not with the windows down, helmet on and ear piece to talk to the instructor. So I have to keep an eye on the Tachometer, which is annoying since I'd like to focus on my line and in general I like to shift by sound.
So I'm curious about your opinion on how much better you can hear the engine during track excursions with the GT500's and with the resonator delete on top of that.
-Thanks

P.S. ElkGrove, I also have the 2014 300A with TP and Recaros. Great choice! The recaros are worth every penny, and the TP is an outstanding addition! Well done sir. You are absolutely going to L-O-V-E 2nd gear with 3.73s and Torsen

James - If 1 equals stock GT mufflers, then GT500 mufflers + resonator delete equals about a 6. I say this because the sound is much improved, from idle to redline, and it sounds excellent, and louder, but not outrageous, IMO. But it won't blow the roof off - most other mufflers will be louder - but then some may drone, these do not. I did not want to upset my neighbors with obnoxious sound in the morning. I do track my car, but I also drive my son to school, and we road trip from Las Vegas to California...so...compromise. A Borla Atak muffler is certainly louder and meaner, like a 9 or 10...if you want that, I did not.
5Monster - Like you, I also track my car (wonderful bargain, our GT, isn't it?!). Our track requires both windows down. With my GT500 mufflers plus resonator delete, the sound is excellent, and you can hear it all. In fact, other drivers tell me it sounds great! Here's a video clip, and I have many more track videos on YouTube if you want to listen. Just a note that above 60MPH the wind noise drowns out the engine and exhaust, but only in the video. In reality you always hear that wonderful 5.0 and exhaust. Don't wait, do it !

Thanks Pete! I always admire your skills in the videos. You know how to pilot the mustang, and I appreciate that.
Thanks for sharing, I'll put on my GT500 mufflers soon, enjoy them for a season of road racing, and decide if res delete is what I want to do. It sounds awesome in your videos.

Thanks for the info.
I think I will start with the GT500 mufflers and then see if I need the resonator delete.
I already have one loud car, I don't really want another one, I just want to hear it!

If you want to take a quick drive up to Rocklin you can hear my gt 500 mufflers, with resonators. I like them because they are civilized unless you really get on it.

Thanks for the compliments! It's such a fun, inexpensive car to take to the track, I love it. Bang for the buck is amazing. Just so you know, my track does not allow any spinning tires out of the hot-pits. So at the start, I use a rolling 5MPH start, then I'm maybe half-throttle, gently squeezing down, getting up to maybe 5k RPMs...to avoid any slip. So you can get an idea of the sound. Good luck!
