GT500 Mufflers

I have ordered a 14 GT and one of the items I want to add right away are the GT500 mufflers...I have seen some pictures on this site of 13/14 Mustang Gt's with aftermarket mufflers where the tips stick out quite a bit farther than the stock muffler tips....does the GT500 mufflers (the single tip, not dual) fit like the stock muffler or do they stick out farther?

I just ordered mine and should be installed this weekend. I will let you know once it's done! I have read that only one side sticks out slightly.

What did you pay for them...I wish I would have ordered them when they were under $300 at American Muscle during the Holidays....

You need to ask one of their forum reps for it, guys sharing it is a no-no with them.

Installed the GT-500 mufflers on mine 2 yrs ago. The tips do not stick out any further than the stock mufflers that I can notice.
1st pic is the stock & 2nd is the GT-500.

I installed GT500 on my 2014, the passenger side stuck out approx 1/2" further than the drivers side. After hours of piddle dickin around with them I finally loosened the next clamp forward and gently tapped the passenger side muffler in until it was even with the drivers side. There is plenty of adjustments, in, out, up, down, right, left etc. I am happy with the outcome so far.

1st pic - Stock, 2nd pic - GT500, 3rd = GT500 Final

My $.02, I went GT500 mufflers with resonator delete, for my 2011GT, and the sound is perfect for me. Other mods can be louder, but not for me. Plus these are Ford Racing OEM, fit perfect, look great, and are cheaper than most other brands. I got mine from AM, great price (I think around $300, free delivery, but that was two years ago). They do not stick out too far or too short. However, after about a month, I did re-adjust, simple. Here's some videos I made just after the install:

Good luck, let us know how you make out!

what does removing the resonators do exactly? All I want is a little better sound and from what I read the GT500 muffler is all I need. Am I wrong?

Removing the resonators will make it louder! I'm fine with just the GT500 mufflers myself. I think you'll be fine with just the mufflers.

I have a '14 gt and I put gt500 axlebacks on it 3 weeks after I bought it after doing 3 weeks of searching videos for the sound I wanted. Love em and a month ago did resonator delete and love it even more.

You also might try looking in the For sale section of TMS and the svtforum. Those Shelby guys usually put them up for sale for a good price. Got my GT500 Quads for 1/2 the cost.

Lakers - if you remove the resonators that is exactly what you'll get...better sound...a very good improvement. I like my GT500 exhaust 2x as much since I removed the resonators.
