I want the Glass Roof SO bad

However I think more realistically, I will be ending up with a Focus ST at the end of this year, maybe early next year (whenever it comes out). At that time, I will take my 2000 off the road and completely rebuild it, maybe even having a custom glass roof made for it.

I think those of us with similar type very large sunroofs (like the one in our Forester) or glass roofs in other cars, can at least give an educated opinion on the matter. FWIW, yes, I can tell a difference in our Subaru in the winter with the shade over our extra-large sunroof open or closed, it is a little colder with the shade open.

Ministang - I came from the Suby side prior to my current car and was very close to selling my '04 WRX for a Forester XT Sport. One of the biggest reason I liked the Forester was the humongous sunroof and of course the potential for a 300 awhp sleeper.

I don't think there is a difference once the car is running and the heater is going. The only thing that would make me love my glass roof more is if it popped up in the back, slid open, or was removable (!!!). The shade is always completely open unless the summer sun is at an unbearable angle.

If you are worried about being cold, get the bun warmers.

It would be a definite buy for me if it only opened up... even partially...

A targa or t-top 2012 mustang would be INCREDIBLE.

I got it because i taught it was a nice compromise between a vert and a coupe. I like the roofline of the coupe and didn't want to get the vert because of that. It was a no brainer for me, and very glad with my choice, it opens up the cabin so much more. Best option i got IMO.

I would imagine the steel roof is just as cold as the glass roof but you'll never know because of the headliner. Temperature variant is negligible, imho.

I have the aftermarket Classic Design Concepts glassback roof and it doesn't have any mesh slider in it. It's actually warmer when the sun is out in the winter. Otherwise, I don't think there is any difference. I love the glass roof though.
