The coolest option i got and very much happy with it. As previously said, it opens up the cabin and looks very cool.

I got it cuz it didn't mess up the roofline. Reason why i didn't get a vert.

When we ordered our new mustang I wanted the electronics pack and my wife wanted the glass roof. So we got both and I must say I thank I like the glass roof more then her now. It kind of feels like you have the top down just in a coup! well without all the wind to lol

I would have gotten it but I couldn't afford it or the NAV option. So I spent my money on the important stuff, Brembos and 3.73s.

The price was just too steep for me. Owning an Edge with the Vista roof I know what I'm missing to a degree, but it just didn't seem like a good deal financially. If Ford would charge like $750 for it, I probably would have got it.

The fact that it doesn't open like the vista roof on our Edge makes it easier to live without.....but I'd still like it for the right price.

This. The perfect car for me would be a Premium content level car, with Comfort Pkg, cloth Recaros, Glass Roof and Electronica Pkg.

why?

justify spending the 2gs on something else? added weight? afraid of it breaking? whats the deal?

i ordered one with mine(hopefully its gonna be here when they say it should be here) and this is one of the things that im most excited about

The responses in the following thread about a month ago address this:

As I said therein, the glass roof is easily my favorite upgrade (and very worth it for the $1,600 it cost me).

This.
I live in Miami and its worse. In my G37 if the sunshade was open then the sunroof had to be open to vent that air, otherwise the sunshade was closed. I love the open air element and that idea of having pure sky over your head is wonderful to me though.

That said, at the time I bought my GT, the only glass roof mustang i found was around 43k and that was way out of my league.

I did'nt really want the glass roof either because we were already spending alot the car ended up being 44,000. But got to make the wife happy lol. Must be more expensive now because it was like a 1,995 dollar option on my car.

My daughter has the glass roof on her 2010 GT.She loves it, but trust me, it does get warm on the Gulf, she lives in MS just outside New Orleans. The sunshade is pretty effective at keeping the car from getting too hot, but she has almost burned her hand on the shift ball.
It was not an option I considered for my new 13, mostly because of the weight up high. The glass roof is heavier than the steel roof and my focus was the track pack option, and didn't want to have the higher CG of the glass roof.

Funny thing though, not one person ended up "just about dead". But then again, they all seem to have had a metal roof over their head.
um, you do realize it's not the same glass as is on the windshield, right? It's a much thicker glass designed to hold a pretty big force load.

Didnt get it b/c I prefer a classic hardtop and if I ever rollover, I want metal protecting me, not glass. It looks okay, but doesnt do much for me. I also dont have passengers often and my eyes are always locked on the road so Id never use it.

in summary, people who have it love it, people who don't have it want it.

^ Not really. I wanted it badly, until I saw it. Not worth the $2.2k it costs here to *me*. Now, if it was a T/removable/openable, that would be different. Hell, even a hard-top vert. But a big window that I as the 99% driver can't much use, not so much.

I have absolutely nothing against it though, it looked decently done etc.

Had a glass roof in my 2009 GT. Now I have an 11 without it and I miss it immensely.

I just hope they still have it available in the next generation Mustang.

Love my glass roof. I plan on keeping this Mustang for awhile so I ordered every option so I had no regrets.

I thought it was a stupid option, especially at $2k and it doesn't open - and then I drove a 2010 with it and I told myself I didn't care how much it cost, it was amazing and could see it being a panty dropper for dates. Whenever I'm in the market again, my next Mustang (and every new car I buy) will have a glass roof. The little tin metal above your head isn't going to protect you any more or any less in a rollover. People who use that as an excuse haven't got a clue - if safety were a problem, it wouldn't be approved for sale.
