Glass Roof

I think I posted this in the wrong section previously...whoops. Two questions:

1. Does the glass roof reduce the headroom at all?
2. Does the shade that you can pull back cut off all the light from coming in through the window?

I actually heard it doesn't quite cut out all the light, but it very nearly does. The glass roof is also tinted to begin with.

We have a glass roof car in the family, no real tint to speak of. The shade lets some light through but MINIMAL.

Headroom for the front passengers is not affected and neither is the rear. HOWEVER when rear seat passengars are getting the shade storage area is like .75" lower inb the middle so if your really tall (which means you wont fit in the back anyway) you might notice it gettting in.

The glass roof is a good choice. It really opens up the car and makes it feel bigger than it is.

I am 6' 4" and sat in a 2010 with the glass roof. I also sat in a conventional 2010 GT. I completely disagree with the headroom comments. Comparing the two, with a glass roof headroom is compromised without the shade closed, and unacceptable with the shade closed. If you are tall I would sit in one yourself before making your mind up. Specifications don't tell the whole story.

From this thread on the height subject:
Glass Roof Option

Remember, the power seats can go up and down. That might help.
I'm 6'2" (and maybe an inch taller with the haircut) and don't recall having issues with the shade closed when I drove a 2010.

You're also forgetting the added weight of the glass roof and the higher center of gravity as a result. Things to think about when/if you decide to track the car at all.

I just added a sunroof option to my 2011 V6. If you want to know what it will look like take a look at Stinger's mom's car. Exactly the same, except I got brown leather seats.

Sorry, glass roof. I added the glass roof. I'm 6'1 and from what I read there should be no height issues. I hope.

IIRC the glass roof only weighs 28 pounds more than the metal roof. There is no loss in structural integrity. Yes, it does raise the CG by a minuscule amount (your fat *** raises it a lot more) but honestly, if you're going to track the car, you're getting a base 400A with the Brembo brakes and 3.73s only anyway. Cars can go fast, look good, or be cheap. Pick two...
