Funny Smell After Driving Short Distances
Funny Smell After Driving Short Distances
The last few weeks when I drive my '14 MT V6 home and park in the garage I notice a bad smell outside the car. (It smells metalic... like the parking brake was left on. The parking brake is not engaged! At least it shouldn't be, the handle is down.) There is no smoke so I don't think it is burning oil...
Anyone else notice this?
Thanks in advance for any insight or suggestions.

I had this once with another car... it turned out that I picked up a plastic bag somewhere along the route and it was melting on the exhaust pipe... it could be something that simple.
Or...could it be that you're riding your clutch?

I smelled something very bad the other day.................I'm old you know
Sometimes the catts will produce a sulfer smell to the exhaust. It takes a couple thousand miles for all the packing and shipping oils to burn off of the parts used at the assembly plant.

Thank you for all of the responses! The sulfur smell actually describes it really well. There are 4,300 miles on the car right now. The short trips are to and from work, I live a little under a mile from my office (Frequent starts and stops not the best for the engine, I know)
