Ford's Excitement over 2010 Mustang
I talked with my dad the other day, who's a manager over at DEFTP in the Rouge Plant, and he mentioned that a while ago there was a presentation for some of the managers and higher-ups to show off the new 2010/2011 Mustang's design. He said there were videos and well over 100 photos showing the different designs and models for the car. They are really excited for this car and they want to start getting everyone involved with the promotion of the vehicle.
I'm not here to show these photos/videos because I wish I could have seen them myself. I'm not here to tell you that it's going to be a big deal because we all know it will be. But just to give you an idea on how secretive Ford is about the whole thing, the photos were presented on one of the computers at his particular office. The photos were stored on an encrypted flash drive that was stored inside a pad-locked briefcase (we're talking heavy duty pad-lock here, not the cheapo TSA approved luggage locks), which he assumed to also contain some further information about the vehicle. After the presentation, they took the workstation they used away for a couple hours to make sure no remnants of the photos and videos were retained and then returned it. The plant has a strict rule not allowing unauthorized cameras or camera phones on the premises, but before the presentation they double-checked all the attendees for cameras anyway. All in all, they're not messing around.
I did show my dad the photos that we have of the 2010 from this site. All I got from him was a laugh and a statement pretty much saying that all the photos we have and the photos on the 2010 Mustang site do not give it justice. Again, because of the secrecy, he wouldn't disclose any information about the power upgrades expected later, but he did mention that it'll give Chevy & Dodge a run for their money.

Well, with less than 2 months to the final reveal, I think Ford have done a great job in keeping us on the edge of our seats, without giving away the final details.
I have full confidence that it'll be well worth waiting the next 50-odd days

Its not what boomer?
Wishful thinking? If Ford offered the 5.0 up for 2010 my jaw would hit the pavement and maybe never come back up.
I know its wishful thinking but the possibility of a detuned 5.0 for 2010 would be awesome. 350 hp maybe? Im so confused and in the dark that I dont know what to expect but everything points to the 4.6 on par with the Bullitt. Im hoping for the best but expecting the worst and living for brighter days and the introduction of the 5.0 4v.

Then I ain't buying... No 5.0/6 speed manual = keeping current Pony.
BTW, has anyone run current KBB on their car? I was horrified to see that my Pony is worth less than half of it's original price. Looks like the depreciation is going from bad to worse. I would be screwed in a trade in. 2 more years to payoff!!!

If I buy a new one, I am keeping my 2006. I ordered it just the way I wanted it.
Of course, my current car is paid for already.

Yep! GM & Chrysler can't wait to show people their new designs, while Ford acts like its the "Cold War" or Area 51 when it comes to their new cars. But, this time its a little different. Ford is doing this to steal some of the excitement away from the Challenger & Camaro.
As for the 5.0 being in the 2010MY? Nope! If all goes well, it will be in the 2011MY.
SE Mustang for 2011MY as well.

lol its not JUST a refresh!!! this to me is like the 05 design on steroids...more aggressive, more economical (and ergonomical), more powerful, more driver friendly, more everything. You have to wait to see it and sit in the drivers seat to understand how much of an improvement it will be. This car may look similar but in 2011 it will be almost completely different inside and out...

You sound like you've sat in it. Anything you're not telling us?!?!
