You currently, as far as I know, have to be holding 100 shares and have to have had them for 6 months before you can get a stock holder x-plan pin.

So, do you have $1250 extra to buy the shares and 6 months to wait before buying your car?

Yes but I am wondering if it is worth it. The net savings from the x-plan have to be greater than $1250 to justify it. Thanks.

Why would the savings have to be more than the cost of the shares? You will still have them even after you buy the car, you don't give them back to get the pin#, and the way Ford is going they very likely will be worth more in the coming months.

I wish to hell that I had bought shares back when they were around $2 back when they were worried about bankruptcy, I'd be sitting pretty now if I had!

Oh, and yes, the savings would be more than the cost of the shares.

I'm looking to get the Premium with Sports Package and HIDs. But the 5.0 is awfully tempting as well.

Thanks for the X-plan info

When I bought 2,000 shares of Ford last year, I wasn't necessarily thinking about buying a Ford car in 2010. Now that the reviews on the 5.0 are out, I'm seriously tempted. Applied for the X-plan pricing on Tuesday and got my pin emailed last night. Makes it even more tempting. Thanks again for the heads up on this offer!

Got a question...I bought my 2010 last July using Xplan with a pin I received July 22. If I wanted to trade my 2010 in for a 2011 GT, do I use the same pin or do I need a new one? Funny, when I picked up the 2010 the dealer never even asked for my job id or anything....

Pretty sure you will need a new PIN for a new transaction.

A dealer is not obligated to accept X-plan pricing. I would just ask them up front as I did with my local dealer.

I bought a 2005 F250 with a PIN from my dealer. The question was, since the Mustang is so new and demand is high, are any dealers accepting x-plan?

Thanks

Ahhh, missed that part. Good question. When I talked to the dealership I'll be going through (still waiting for the 6 months to be up) they said they would accept it. I'm not sure if them knowing it was a retail order affected the answer though.

The X-Plan applies to 2011 Mustangs.

If your dealer has given anyone else the X-Plan, he MUST accept your pin. He can be sued otherwise. At least that's what my floor manager at Ford in NC said.

That being said, forget the X-plan. Do some internet shopping and get 500 below invoice, assuming the processing fees are reasonable.

My X Plan pin number print out from Ford Partner Recognition says near the botton of the paper "This Certificate is good for one (1) X-Plan Partner Recognition eligible vehicle purchase".

I guess you would have to get a 'new' X Plan PIN Number if your were to buy another new car. Maybe?
