Find Build Date?

Is there a way to find the build date for my car? If there is no public way of doing it, would one of you who works for a dealer be able to look this up for me using my VIN?

use the above link to find your window sticker but replacing your vin number with the once posted after the equals sign then look on the upper left corner for a series of numbers before the blend number and after the state it is going to in (in this example NJ 120101206 0166) remove the first digit and you have your build date in this case it was 12/06/2010

The build date is also listed on the info sticker on the door jamb as shown in this pic.

I thought that date was a few days off. The build date would be before the date on that sticker? Of course I could be wrong

Both those numbers match for my GT/CS.

The official build date is typically one day later than the date on the sticker, three if the date happens to fall on a Friday.

OK, I give up - where in that mess of digits circled above is the frickin' build date? Not seeing it - am I the only one missing it?

Starting from the left, knock off the 1. Next 4 digits are the year (2010) next 2 are the day (06) next 2 are the month (07) forget the last 4 digits = 2010/06/07 build

that's the blend number. It represents the sequence in which the cars are built, as they aren't built in VIN order. The blend number typically goes from 0001-8999 them rolls over to 0001 again.

Got it. I checked and my 'vert was built on April 13, 2010. I checked and that's a Tuesday, which I think is a good thing. Maybe that's why it's been basically trouble-free (except for an airbag module that was probably built on a Friday, LOL).
