Extra Heat From My Seat!
I have the 401A and comfort package. Has anyone else noticed this: with seat heaters OFF, there's still some extra heat coming up through the seat bottom as you are driving? It's NOT WELCOME in this summer heat!
I NEVER NOTICED IT the 1st 6 weeks of driving my car, until I dropped it off for service in July to get that SRS module replaced (Which was in the driver's side seat!!). They gave me a 2010 loaner that also had 401A/comfort and it simmered my rear the whole time i had it despite checking and turning on/off the seat heater! It was so noticeable I told the sales manager there was something wrong with the car.
So then I pick up my car after they replaced the SRS module (in my driver's seat, remember?) and it now does the exact SAME THING!!
So I am beginning to think my "dead" SRS module wasn't generating any heat, but that good/live modules must generate a LOT of heat!! Just what-the-heck is in there to generate heat anyway?!?
Not a deal breaker, but still an annoyance. Anyone else w/401A/CP notice this?

No problem here. I have the comfort package here as well, but did not notice any heat on mine. I had mine for little over a month now with 1000 or so miles on it. Leather is cool to the touch, and only gives off slight risidual heat from my body after driving the car.

Double maybe your's is having a malfunction. You should take it and get it checked out. I would risk letting this issue go because it has to do with heat.
I don't like the thought of that maybe having a problem and lighting your night leather seats on fire lol

I always hate having to take the car in, I still need to take mine in to have my seat tightened. When the car is bouncing around on the highway cuz of its super loose suspension as my weight is shifting my seat squeaks and there is something that raddles in my dash from bass in music and from bumpy roads.

Dream - Yeah, I absolutely HATE turning my pampered car over the dealer personnel, to whom it's just an object. It's always a crapshoot whether you get the car back without something new wrong with it or broken.

I think you can check my post history, but the long and short of it was:
- SRS light that wouldn't go off.
- Took it in, dealer killed 1/2 a day to say it was the driver's side airbag module and that they had to order the part.
- Three weeks later (took 4ever to get the part), took car back
- Dealer said it was a 2-1/2-hour job to install the new module because the driver's side seat had to be taken out and disassembled to some extent b/c the module mounted in there somewhere.
- Gratuitous heat issue noticed immediately upon picking up my car after this.
As far as the AMOUNT of heat, no the seat heater is not stuck "on" - if you turn it on, you WILL feel a distinct increase in heat. It's a small amount, maybe 1/8th to 1/4 of the heat produced by the seat heater switched to "on", but when it's 97 degrees out, and the leater is smooth (as my 401A is), ANY amount of extra heat is unwanted!!
