Exhaust Upgrade
#101
OP, I was thinking of you this morning. I had to start (yes, "had to") her up this morning, so I recorded a couple vids in the process, just to hear my Borlas sing. Remember tho, I have the full catback, while you only have the axle back right? I had the axle back to start, then had to upgrade to full
enjoy.

Hi PaxtonShelby. Thank you. I bought them from Auto Anything. I thought the price was pretty good then I saw them on ebay for a little less. I paid $640.

I wish the 2013-14 S-Types were that cheap. That eBay ad is actually incorrect - part 11789 is for 2011-2012, and not 2011-2013.

hey everyone!
I have poured over this thread, and probably about 10 others. i have a 2014 GT. Manual Trans. Right now it has an Airaid CAI without a tune, otherwise stock.
my buddy has a 2013 V6 Auto with the Roush exhaust and it sounds amazing to me, except for: Its ALWAYS loud and it has some drone.
Personally, I could deal with the 'always loud' except that I want to be a little more respectable in my neighbourhood, as well I have a cop living in the house to the right, the house to the left, and 5-6 houses down the street.
I dont want to be 'THAT Guy' when I decide to go for a midnight cruise who wakes everyone up.
I decided that Roush is too loud for me right now, so I'll give you guys a few options:
1) Cervini Side exit exhaust
2) Borla Axle Back (It seems like the most popular, quieter than the Roush, but maybe still too loud)
3) I was thinking of getting QTP electronic exhaust cutouts, then putting on maybe GT500 exhaust, OR Flowmaster Outlaws (or Pro?) This way, it can be a little more aggressive than stock, and then when I get on the highway or far enough away I can open the cutouts whenever I want and hopefully it'll sound menacing!!
Cost wont be a really big issue, but for something like #3, im hoping to keep it at about $1500 or less.
This car makes me feel so manly and giggle like a little kid all at the same time.
Want a medium throaty rumble. Something that wont get me into trouble, and people won't think I'm a huge douche or disrespectful ***.

The Roush are louder on the 5.0. Louder when it is very cold out. So, yeah, it is best you pass on those. It is a shame though, because they sound awesome. I don't have any drone. My neighbors are a good distance away so I'm not bothering anyone. lol. It is hard to choose without hearing them in person.

Would you guys recommend the boss side exit exhaust, with Borla axle backs and the electronic cutouts? Then I could switch from the Borla to the side exit. But I would prefer the side exit to be significantly louder. Then I can switch whenever I want.
Then it seems more stealthy that way.

I think I'll get the GT500's, and then an electronic cutout to switch to the boss Side exit exhaust. I can always switch the axle backs down the road right? Anything specific I should tell the exhaust shop?

The boss side pipes aren't very loud until wot, no need for electronic cut outs.
