Engine/Car sounds odd during shutoff (video)

Hi All -

I recently changed my oil and filter, and washed my aFe dropin filter with 2 days time to dry - things I've done plenty of times before. I rechecked my work and am unable to figure out why my engine/car sounds different when I turn the engine off.

The car starts up normally, seems to run normally, check engine light stays off. However when I shutoff the car, there is a shake and pressure release sound that happens (2 videos of this below). Not sure if its just in my head, car seems to be a bit down on power under normal driving.

Any clues on what I should look for/what this could be? AC was not on - and the car has only 55k miles.

Much appreciated in advance.

The pressure release sound is normal. Mine and other v6 Mustangs do it. Did you clean the air intake sensor? I forgot what it is really called. It's the sensor right before your filter. Two screws holding it on and be very careful with it. You have to use the proper spray cleaner and 'don't use carburetor cleaner' on it........

I must add: You might need to remove and clean your throttle body. Use the right cleaner on it also. Not carburetor cleaner

Thats interesting that you've had this pressure release sound. I've owned the car since brand new, and now 55k miles later, it is the first time I am hearing this and noticing the engine/car shake during shutoff.

I've not cleaned that sensor, however I may have accidentally touched it with a damp shop towel while cleaning the airbox housing. Could that have caused any damage?

Touching it shouldn't have hurt it. I think the real name for the sensor is the AIT, air intake temperature sensor. I think that's what it's called. I remove and clean mine every time I clean and re oil my cone air filter. I've read a small amount of oil from the air filter will cause the sensor to not work as good. I also remove and clean my throttle body at this time too. Use AIT spray sensor cleaner on that sensor and throttle body spray cleaner on the throttle body. If you haven't ever done this before, lots of youtube videos on how....I think your engine shaking 'might' be from a dirty throttle body. I could be wrong

I never noticed the pressure release sound before until someone else had noticed it to see if it was normal. I always have my radio on. When I park, I turn off the key. The sound is made but the radio is still on so I don't hear it. I open the door and the radio goes off. I only time I hear the sound when turning off the engine is when I don't have the radio on

I should mention that I use a DRY AFE filter, not an oiled one. I've not had the chance yet to try cleaning the air sensor or throttle body, but is there a particular reasoning how the dirty sensor or TB would cause the pressure release sound?
