How do I remove the two plastic wing fasteners in the trunk? It just keep on turning. These are the fasteners holding the plastic panel right behind the tail lights. I am trying to install the Raxiom tail light sequencer.

On my 2006 I have to pull on them and turn at the same time... not sure why but I have the same problem as you and that they just spin.

They are snapped in with little teeth even though they spin. Good luck getting them off without breaking them.

Wish I had a pic. Trust me. They snap and lock. I would get two new ones from ford..cost like 2 bucks and pry the others off carefully.
They break easily...,hence the extras.

I'm trying to remember how I got the pins out, cause one of mine spun too. If you pull on them gently as you turn they might come out.

I had the same problem and ended up breaking both doing the GT500 valance install. I just ordered 6 from Tousley/Autonation parts for extras.

The upper 2 behind the tail lights will unscrew, but you may have to pull them off when they are loose enough.

The bottom 2 will need to be pulled out, they are push in type connector. I used my side cutters before purchasing a tool to remove these types of connectors. Put your cutter blades under them and pry up, being careful not to squeeze and cut them.
