daytime running lamps?
Canadian spec vehicles have DRL's from the factory... I have read if the car is US spec and has factory DRL's then it was an option for fleet vehicles.

They built 950 GT500 convertible ike mine, on that number 131 Kona blue like mine. On that number, only 33 with Daylight running light. I believe it means that only 33 crossed the border to Canada ?
If you have a Canadian Spec car or a US Spec fleet vehicle with the DRL option, all the above applies and also functions as DRL's.

That would be correct if Ford built only 33 Kona Blue GT500's as Canadian Spec which would include DRL's and dominant KPH on the speedometer... This would have nothing to do with any USA spec cars possibly brought to Canada.

True DRL's operate on reduced brightness and come on automatically during daylight only and operate independently without the parking/running lamps being turn on.

I have thought about this too but what I have found out is that the DRL's are a feature programmed into one of the computers. But if anyone does know a way around this please tell!!
It is definitely programmed into the Smart Junction Box. From everything I read if it is a Canadian vehicle the dealers will not disable it from the SJB programming since the lamps are required by law.
Also, DRL's cannot be programmed to activate in cars that were not originally equipped with them.

I would Say Though to Get Them Disabled in Canada Would Not Be an Option Unless You Had USA Plates.
They Can Be Programmed at the Dealer! Us Spec Cars Moved To Canada Have Them Done! 05 Up Models.
Unsure of 04 Prior Models.
I Also Have Had it Done on my 06 Crown Vic.
I Update For Our Viewing Guests!
And Yes I Know How Old the Response is!
