School me on aftermarket HID kits

I'm thinking about installing a 5800K-6200K HID kit for the Stang. I was wondering which kit I should purchase that is of the highest quality and is affordable. I know for a fact the projector systems are the most ideal, and the OEM kits have been proven/tested through thousands of man hours of testing but they're all rather pricey. I am looking for a lamp replacement system (where the capsules sit in the stock headlamp housing).

I say go with StangMods.com. They're not the cheapest, but they have good customer service and a 1 year warranty. And then when you realize that your fog lamps don't match your headlamps, you can go upgrade those too from them. If you're trying to match lamps, you probably want to stick with the same brand because everyone has a different idea of what 6000k is.

Oh hey, look, they used my pics (factory HID vs factory HID + stangmods fog lamps): http://www.stangmods.com/PhotoGaller...=5#largerphoto

My factory HIDs are unuseably dim compared to my stangmods HID fogs..

I special ordered a 4000k HID fog kit for $200 from Stangmods.com (They don't list 4000k on their website). Factory HIDs just aren't as bright.. if you want them to match, buy all 4 from them. Right now, they don't have a replacement for the factory HID bulb, but they do have matching H13 bulbs for people who want to retrofit.

After reading up on kevinb's HID kit experience, I decided to order from the same seller. It's a VVME kit for my other car (9007), 4300K, bi-xenon (solenoid that flips the capsule). I hope it fits into the reflector and doesn't hit it when the high beam is activated.

This kit is high beam only right? It doesn't seem to say it's a high/low system....

They have a single beam kit (lows only) and a dual beam kit (high + low).

I have one of those Phillips/Hella-style ballasts and was wondering how to hook up the power for the ballasts. Do I put the tabbed connector over the small pointed metal tab on the ballast, or does it go over the square/blocky tab on the ballast? I've seen it connected both ways and the instructions aren't worth crap.

BTW I have the VVME HID kit (sold by flashplus on eBay).

Yes, but people thought I had my brights on when I just had my factory HIDs + factory yellow fogs. Still trying to get a matching set of 4, so that won't happen.
