Throttle Lag SOLVED!!!

Remove or reduce traction control and that'll do the trick. A tune will not remove the lag unless the tune includes turning off traction. In the 2015 2016 models, you can turn it off or enter into Advancetrac Sport Mode on the Base GT or turn off or enter track mode on the GT Premium.

I am just curious ... how do you join & find/comment on a thread from 2011?

Not calling you out or being disrespectful ... just curious.

Impressive to say the least.

Best Regards,

TJ

Every bit of throttle lag is gone on my vehicle, with traction control on or off. Yes, the tune did that. If yours doesn't, get a better tune.

When I was looking for the solution for the issue I searched forums regardless of the model year and I found the same answers; get a tune or replace some piece of hardware. I got a CAI & custom tune, added 40+ more HP, sharpened my shifts, improved throttle, remapped my shift points for my D drive mode. The tuner did tell me to turn off traction control when I test drove after the tune and the lag was gone under Advancedtrac Sport Mode (ATSM) (I didn't want to turn it off completely). He didn't specifically tell me that that was what removed it. So multiple drives later, the lag returns and I'm scratching my head. I dig some more into the forums and find I overlooked some of the comments that mentioned traction control, so I go out and drive it some more with traction on and also in ATSM and there was the reason. So now I'm sharing what I found because from what I can see this is a persistent issue with the Mustang (not just my gen but prev gen as well) and Ford doesn't outright say, lesson the traction control for best WOT performance (they don't use WOT I mean, there track mode does mention less traction control for "pure" performance")

Yours is the first I've read. My wasn't a canned tune, I'm sure I got the best my money could afford. Pro-Dyno Fortmill, NC. Funny though I have to say. I'm the first post in over 5 years and I get two replies the same day, one from Speeda? (moderator?) and another putting me down.

I'm not knocking tunes or CAI's or other bolt-on's, I'm glad I made my upgrades and got it tuned because the factory drive mode was unbearable and it's taken my car to another level, but they are not the solution for WOT lag. The real culprit is the traction control. Lessening it or removing it removes the problem. How you go about achieving this is your business. Good day!

Which is 100% untrue for my vehicle.
