I'm aware of that. I was intending that to mean that, before the next redesign in 2014/2015, according to what he knows, which model year would he purchase. Does he mean to wait for the 2011's, or is he implying to wait for a 2012+?

So, logically the alleged 400HP '11 will be somewhere between the two, correct? I don't think I'd kick myself too much over that.

Unless you are talking about an SE...??
It will depend on what tires, gears, and the effect the 6 speed may have... Also, if the 5.0 has a big torque number (400+) it will probably be faster than the 427R due to the lower torque.

And don't forget what else the 427 provides, suspension upgrades. While they may be about the same in a stright line, the 427 may still have an edge in turns (ie. real life).

And all I really wanted was a 13 second car (13.99-), but since there have been engine rumors for quite some time, I'm gona wait for the 5.0. The new V6 might even be enough, but its still a big "might".

It is not a good idea to wait too long. The new cafe standards may put an actual end to big V8s in production cars after several years. Yes a turbo six might be just as fast, but will not sound the same, ever...

If I could afford one, I would most definatly wait for the "Boss". If ford does as good on the standard model as the rumors project, there is no way they can screw up the "Boss."

It is hard to say.
There are different things coming, plus you have to take into account a restyle or so.

All I'm saying is, wait at least for the 3.7/5L to show up before making decisions.
Keep in mind the offerings will get better and better, just like they always have.

I know what I'LL be looking for in the next couple of years... (the problem is they ALL sound cool)
but in the end, the almighty dollar might win this round with me.

Those numbers are pretty consistent from all the sources I've seen.

Yes, of course. But I doubt the 5.0 will have something substantially different from 19's or 20's and 3.73's. And the 427R has 400 ft-lbs at 3750. How much more would you expect?

Of course, Ford will (must) offer all this for something considerably lower than the mid to upper forties ($$$) of the Roush cars. I drool at the thought of the 540RH.

I think that car needs a dyno test. MPH is too far off for that HP, not to mention it should have a fairly flat torque curve. My 06 with nothing but a tune went 13.26 at almost 107, wheel hopping in first. A true 400 horses should put a well driven car in the high 12's.

DarkCandy08GT: I hear ya, CandyMan, but it's better to have great cars we can't afford than never to have great cars at all. It's an inspiration if nothing else!

Besides, Grand Theft Auto will get you out in 3-4 years in some states with good behavior. Read the laws and shop accordingly

Late November (I think the 23rd) is when the order guides come out...just hold on.

Or better yet, everyone should flood Boomer's inbox with PM's! That's how you get the good stuff!
