Conversion kit to Nav.

Can you buy a conversion kit to add a double din or the navigation?

Aftermarket yes. OEM no.

I talked to United Radio. They researched the OEM swap and the car requires factory dual zone climate control to make it possible. The dual climate control is not in non-nav cars.

Why is it required?

I would guess that without it there would be no way for the electronics to control the heat and A/C.

If I ever decide to attempt the swap, I'll just find a wrecked car and take the dash too with all of the heater cores and crap haha.

There is an aftermarket panel that does what you want and allows adding an aftermarket double-DIN nav radio. Google for Metra 99-5823CH and you'll see what it looks like...not the OEM layout, but looks pretty much like an OEM when done. There is even an installation manual online.

This looks like an excellent product:

I may take this route in the future over the OEM if I am still living outside of the USA.
