Cold motor surge

Is it common for the 5.0 to surge when cold? My 2012 can be a bit of a hand full until warmed up.

Same here, I have to be super gentle with the throttle pedal in 1st and second for the first 10 minutes of operation.

Looks like all of you are in the North. I am in Florida and I have never had that issue. Mine will start up in a Fast idle for about 20 to 30 sec and that is it.

You're right. It really is only a minute or two. A bit longer when it's cold out.

I was always wondering if an aftermarket tune fixed the issues. Seems like not based on what rmurer said.

I'm in the north but if I start the car on a 95F day it's the same in regards to the "surging" as on a 40F day. And I do t drive the car in colder temps than that...

I got a new tune from VMP that is suppose to fix my issues, still have to flash it.

I have a 14 auto and can say I have not noticed any surging when cold, maybe its more noticable on a manual trans car.
