Can Nav screen be turned off?

I was wondering if the Nav screen can be turned off? I'm thinking that at night it might be pretty **** bright.

And you can dim the screen. It will automatically dim itself if you turn the headlights on

Personally, I don't think that it is too bright at night, it does dim a bit and goes into night color mode. But, as stated earlier, it can be turned off.
I love the nav screen, worth every penny in my book.

I'm with you... I think the Electronics Package is well worth the price... I love the multi-function display on the screen, not limiting it only to one particular option! Just lovin' it!

It's a good thing that you can turn the screen off, although I never shut mine off. I've got some friends (an older couple) who just bought a new Mercury Milan that has the same navigation system. They have absolutely no interest in navigation, Sync, or Sirius. They only listen to one radio station and don't want to play MP3's in the car. They plan on running it with the screen off most of the time. I don't get it. I also showed them the ambient lighting in their car and how you can change the colors. "No thanks, we'll just leave it off."
