Dealer played tag team salesman - the guy I liked who really sold me on the car then pawned me off on some junior associate to handle ordering, paperwork, etc. Junior never kept me updated on build progress until the day he called to say the car had arrived. Then they tried to change the agreed price for my trade-in. What should have been an hour of signing papers and having features demonstrated turned into 3.5 hours of arguing the deal we had arrived at in July, listening to some finance guy trying to sell things like wheel and tire warranties at inflated prices, making sure they removed the dealer emblems I had asked them not to install in the first place, and trying to convince them I was not interested in their extra 0.1% on financing when I already had a sign-and-drive deal in place. If they weren't so conveniently located, I would probably never go back again... I might not anyway despite the convenience.

 

The dealer tells me my vin will be 157762 and the ETA will be 11/6/10. Who knows may be one of the last 2011 built? It was ordered on 8/6 so 3 months exactly if the ETA is correct.

my dealer confirmed today that the car will be built(finished) on the 26th

 

Talked to my salesman today to get an update on my order. I ordered on August 21. Car should get scheduled on October 28 and I should get my VIN on October 30. Build date should be about two weeks after that. So I am looking at a delivery in about 5 to 6 weeks from now. Total time would be close to 12 weeks.

He also mentioned that he had 5 Mustang orders in the pipeline. The first one is from August 11, the second one is mine. He also mentioned that car 5 probably wouldn't get built.

 

Did he say why the last one wouldn't be built ?

 

I think it is because he has no more allocation before the end of the model year. Not sure what happens then, maybe he has to reorder for 2012.

 

Got my first Build date of Nov 8th wow seems faster than i thought it would be...
now where did i leave that vin number and what do i do with it ?? lol
