Congrats! I'm hoping to have mine soon, the wait is killing me lol

 

I have been an observer for a few month now and couldn't take it any more. I joined the forum and put my order in on 7/16 what is the usual turn around time to get a Vin number ? Its only 8 days and Im jonesing for it already!!

 

I had my VIN number in under 2 weeks. I ordered the 11th of June and my car was built on the 25th. But it has been sitting on lot 5P since the 27th.... I want my car! lol

 

Did they give you a deliver date ? Iv'e seen some in this form from build to drive off in under 4 weeks and you have other people waiting 4-5 months, I don't get it. Hopefully you will fall under the 4 week turnaround, it looks like your in good shape.

 

Original ETA was July 16th, they missed that, new ETA is August 2nd, but I don't see how that's gonna happen if the car is still sitting at 5P

 

I think with you guys ordering now there will be no more issues with 4-5 month waits - all of that was for quality holds and rework which is now being incorporated into the factory build. I ordered 2/3 and still don't have the car but it was released for shipment on 7/2. So the 5 months can be attributed to quality holds.

Cars headed for the Northeast are now being delayed from rail transportation problems. I don't know if this is a capacity issue, union issue or ??? but there definitely are huge delays right now. My car as well as the cars of a few other N.E. forum members have been sitting in MI rail yards for close to a month.

 

I guess the northeast shipping thing is why I don't have my car yet either. Hopefully these delays clear up soon, I'd like to be able to enjoy the car for the rest of the summer lol.

 

Someone had told me it was quality control from the early orders, I also heard that N.E. buyers were having a problem with the rail yards doing the transporting something about a union issue I think. My dealer told me my car will come through Newark N.J. port that I have nothing to worry about ?

 

Mine's been in Binghamton for about 2 weeks now. Good times. Someone on here had a car on the same train and got his with no delay. My dealer I believe also got two from that same shipment a few days after they arrived in Binghamton.

I ordered 7/3 and no VIN yet. Dealer says I'll have the VIN by early August.

 

For those of you waiting for your VIN, how long it takes will depend on your dealer's allocation. If they already are allocated the car you want it should go pretty fast. I probably waited an extra 3 weeks just because of dealer allocation.

 

Is it possible for all of us who order in july, that we are caught between job 1 and job 2 productions ?

 

I specifically requested a job 2 build when I ordered July 6. Salesman contacted the area rep, who assigned an Aug 23 build week.

Alright, the wait has been killing me. Hopefully, I'm on my last stretch of waiting. My car eta is 8/11 and I see only more restless nights ahead. I can't believe how lucky some are and how unlucky some are about getting their car delivered in a timely fashion. I have been waiting 10 weeks now and I want this car so bad. I think finding this site has been bad for my health, jk. After reading all the different threads, I can't wait to take my first drive in my car.
Anyway, supposedly my car was built yesterday. After reading about time frames, I think I can expect my car to be ready to be shipped on Thursday. What should I be expecting from the dealership after my car is built? Should they call me confirming that my car has indeed been built and on its way or do I need to call. I haven't gotten much information out of my dealership with out initiating a call. I was planning on calling next week if I did not hear anything this week. Also, I found out through the build site, the $500 customer cash is now $1000. I agreed on a price with the $500 customer cash which I'm happy with, but do you think they will give me the extra $500 off.
This thread has been a great source of information, but I'm totally jealous of all the people who got their car under 8 weeks, but no so jealous of the people who had to wait over 3-4 months for their car.

Cory, call your dealership. Most of them aren't interested in being proactive.

Yes, you will/should get the $1000 customer cash. Consider it a bonus for your wait. All incentives are factored in at time of delivery not at the time of order. If they'd have gone away, you'd have lost them.

Ask your sales person for a vehicle visibility report. Get a rail car number if you can. Then you can track the car via CSX yourself. Once it arrives in the local railyard, it might be a few days before your dealer gets it.

 

I was dragging when I got to work today, but my window sticker now shows up, so no Red Bull needed today!

If I read the sticker correctly, the build day is 8-2-10. The rep at customer service gave me an ETA of 8-17-10 when I called last week. Is there a page that tells how to decipher the sticker?
