I hope it's there now but, considering all that has happened to others here, wouldn't you rather phone them first before going there?

 

I know I would, but if it's like on the way to work or something. I know my rep guy said he'd call when it arrived.

 

You're just going to randomly show up because a computer said your ETA was a certain date and expect the car to actually be there given all the delays/holds/issues?

When I look at Fords initial order month + serial numbers assigned + blend numbers I come to this conclusion:

1. Ford received 11,000 orders the first 30 days and have received an average of 5,500 a month since (Assigned Serial Numbers)
1. Ford built around 7500 cars in the first 30 days of production (Based on Blend Numbers)
2. As of the end of April they had built close to 10,000 (This number is low because of the parts shortage week of 4-19)
3. By the end of this week we should be approaching 17,000 if the line is up to full speed for the current schedule (2400 a week).

We should have roughly 5 weeks production waiting to be built. So if you ordered today you would be looking at 7 weeks for an average car (5 weeks + 2 weeks delivery). Thats without any allowance for preference for retail orders. Of course if a particular option you order is in short supply that will effect the wait for an individula car. It looks to me like they should be down to the normal 30 day delivery window for orders placed around the first of August if order trends remain steady and their are no production problems.

Of course thats just idle speculation but i would not be suprised if it was in the ballpark.

Good news! My dealer called me this morning to say my Mustang is in the rail yard at my home town (Dallas) ...should be delivered soon! (btw, it was ordered on Jan 21, built on Apr 22).

So -- weird thing. Called CS line today, just to check that tomorrow was still the build day. (I try to call no more than once a week).

They said it was built last week . . . ! 5/14! ETA is 5/31.

Built ahead of schedule? Can it be?

 

Did they give you a hard time about calling them instead of your dealer?

 

I'm right behind you and have a build date of 5/20 and an ETA of 5/31, which I don't believe,so I don't think your car was built on 5/14..what does your window sticker say?
