Little problem.............I'm in Flo-ri-da.

Apparently the computer was unable to process the dealer information properly due to a hanging chad. . . I know that's a recurring problem in Flo-ri-duh.

James-- have you escalated this to the regional rep? This is ridiculous. They can't "fix" and ship your car in 2 months???? But MattR can have one built and delivered in 2 weeks? I raised hell. Got my car. I'm not sure if there's a direct correlation but that's what happened.

I escalated the issue with Ford CS over two weeks ago, no response. My dealer has a call in to the zone rep as we type. They claim to have a verbal ETA from the zone rep of 7/15 but VV still shows 5/6. We'll see what my salesman has to say after talking with the zone rep. I was the first to order a 2011 from my dealer and customers that have ordered from this same dealer after me have received their orders. Discouraging.

My Dealer claimed my car wasn't going to be released til 7/25/10, it shipped 6/28/10, either he was just trying to shut me up for a month or really doesn't know jack.

You know what happened here. The dealers all got the same email from Ford about the held Mustangs being released no later than the end of this month and they just added a conservative shipping time to it. In the end it doesn't mean anything accurate.

Searched cars.com nationwide, nothing. I'm not whining but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Well, my car has been released! I posted earlier (yesterday?) in the HOLD thread that my dealer spoke with the rep and all the blah blah blah about shipping everything by July 20th now...

So I e-mailed my thanks and added, "does this mean Vehicle Visibility will be getting updated and predicting accurate ETA's?" Low and behold, he replied with an update showing that my car is 3/4 of the way home! ETA shows July 19th though now... I'm sure they're being conservative with those.

Anyway, I'm getting ready to jump on a plane! There is hope my friends! May all your serial numbers soon turn green.

Color me delivered (green) 124433. Car is pretty great! Forgive my craptacular pic, it's really humid here in the FL and my camera was fogging over.

Should I be pissed that its now been 1 month since I ordered and I still have no VIN, no build date, and the plant is about to shut down for 2 weeks?

I see other people who ordered the week after mine with VIN's and most of their cars are already built.

I know there's people still waiting for their cars so I don't want to complain too much, I just thought Ford was gonna do "oldest to newest" WTF

I'm guessing with the plant down for two weeks there will be a similar break in issuing new VIN's. There could still be an allocation problem for your dealer though.

I'm thinking the delay is having to do with allocation. They told me that their Ford rep said this week they were allocated to have it built, not that it was scheduled. So I'm assuming it's not getting its built day till after the shut down. Sucks but maybe I can still get it by August

Well, they have allocation now, so it should be built the next time they schedule your blend, assuming everything is available. As I recall yours will be pretty close to what mine is, and it was built at a fairly average pace. About two weeks from VIN to Build.

Jokerstars: "Hey, where's my Mustang V6, er, GT, er, Brembo, ... anyway, where's my car?"
Ford CS Operator 1: "Sir, can I place you on while while I check the status?"
Jokerstars: "Sure."
Ford CS Operator 1: "It's that pain in the **** from VA again."
Ford CS Operator 2: "Crap... we're running out of stories."
Ford CS Operator 1: "Maybe we should just tell him it's on the way."
Ford CS Operator 2: "We can't say 'in transit' AGAIN!"
Ford CS Operator 1: "OK, this time say we'll say 'It's on the railcar."
Ford CS Operator 2: "Brilliant! Good luck!"
Ford CS Operator 1: (taking phone off hold) "Sir, your car left the factory and was put on a railcar."
Jokerstars: "GREAT! Thanks."
Ford CS Operator 2: "Did you tell him it's on it's way to Vancouver?"
