It's a trap! In transit doesn't mean it's necessarily on your way to you!


Maybe. I've had 3 "in transit" status updates and it's still not on its way to me. You can celebrate when you get a railcar number. Ask your dealer.

 

Yup, mine's been in transit since the middle April.

Well maybe I was embellishing what the CS rep said, his exact words were "its on its way". The only other thing I asked was if he could see when it left the factory and he said no.

But Ill take your advice and try to get a railcar number from my dealer

 

They told me my car was on it's way as well when I called last week. I discovered they were full of it when my dealer sent me the actual report. Take a look at my update as of Friday. Still sitting at Ramp 5p. You'll notice it took 3 days from 13-June to 16-June to go from Ramp 5P to.....Ramp 5P.

 

I'll see if I can get a similar report to this from my dealer...

 

I always get those from Paul, just got an update today. Car is sitting in a yard in Toronto waiting to be put on a hauler. I can confirm that the Ford update Paul sent me is accurate since i spoke with the guy that offloaded my car from the railcar. Don't ask me how i did it. I can smell it already.

Got a call from the dealer at around 4:30. Coming off the truck. Went up to see and drove it for about 30K. Will post more pic;s and comments later.

It was very dirty but still beautiful.

So I guess I can be marked off as delivered.

On, and as per ETA below came a week early from new ETA (orginal one was a month ago)

Called Canadian customer service: Released from plant-in transit. Eta: June 28-July 5

This is more then I got last Friday when I called. Which was no update or eta. So I think this is good news.

If it comes in July I will miss out on the $1000 Costco offer. Unless it is extended.

Well actually i hope it comes in this week or early next week. If it doesn't, it'll have to be the week of July the 5th to July 8th. Before and after those dates, i'm gone. Fingers and toes crossed.

 

Okay, that report looks absolutely wacked. It initially had three different people sign off on it, then it got sent back to the factory one morning, then back to Ramp 5P at the end of the day, then for whatever reason it goes OFFSITE at 10 at night and RETURNS four hours later (2 AM). Then says it was shipped by convoy, then says it's still at Ramp 5P. That's more than a little weird.

 

Thanks for breaking that down, I was/am totally confused. In EVERY report I've seen when the status says "SHIPPED CONVOY #349384" it's GONE for good. Out the door to the rail station. Yet....arrived at the same place 3 days later. What the F.


Anyone know how I can get in touch with "Ralph" or someone at AAI? PM me if you don't want to post it here. The AAI number that's been thrown around (and is on google maps) doesn't work.

 

It's possible when they beeped it onto a convoy (likely with a barcode scanner) they must have either changed their mind or loaded the wrong car or just plain scanned in your car by accident. I'm pretty sure almost no one can mess with the data once it's in the system, and they probably have policies against that. I don't think they can easily undo it if a mistake happens.

 

You'll notice it was sent offsite (and returned) on a Sat/Sunday, which strikes me as odd. Plus the whole return to plant ordeal.

Way too many anomalies to be just a scanning code?

 

Hard to say, maybe they were rushing it around trying to get something fixed, it was about the time Ford said they were really stepping on it to get the cars out the door so a really late clutch fix on Saturday night? Not outside the realm of reason (though I'd feel bad for them, or good, depending on overtime). It does suggest though that they got a little confused about where to put it.

 

Just got a message from my dealer he said he's pretty sure my car is on the truck that just came in!!

I was in the shower so I missed his call. Returned it, but no answer. I might just head down there now even though they close shortly.
