Brembo Wheels Pitting?
Has anybody had minor pitting issues with their Brembo wheels? On the outer portion of the "spokes" I have started to notice very tiny black dots that resemble pitting. It almost appears that the paint is thin there, as if it has been sandblasted by brake dust. I don't notice this near the center of the wheel.
Also, I have been using diluted Simple Green to get the brake dust off. First I rinse, then spray it on, sponge and finally rinse. Could the Simple Green be too harsh?
I tried car wax but it does not seem to help.

I have some chips in mine. I believe the base coat on the wheels is black and that's what's showing through. Same thing happened with the Rays on my 370Z.
I use Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner... it's great and not harsh on the finish.

Same on mine as well.
I have been debating getting them chromed or stripped and polished. They look so much like SuperSnake wheels, they might look pretty awesome. Wish I could photoshop well.

Stripped and polished would look awesome! I remember someone on this forum having his chromed and they came out really nice. I just prefer polished over chrome.

Also, you have to wonder why they chose a black base coat.

WOW...that looks good!!! Better than I suspected. I think I might chrome my Brembos. They'll good on a Sterling Grey...IMO. Any idea on what something like that might cost?

He said he paid $700.
I just sent in for a quote from a place in cali called CalChrome. Supposedly great place with 5 year warranty, and theres not a lot of chromers out here in Chicago.
Here's the look I'm imaging on mine with the same stripes and soon to be red brembo calipers.

You guys should check out "Permachrome." From my understanding, it's almost like powder coating; the finish won't rust or pit like chrome. Perusing the link below, it looks like a black chrome Permachrome is available, too.
