255/40/19 to 275/40/19

Ok so who has gone from 255/40/19 to 275/40/19 on the stock Brembo wheels? I think they are 9" wide. Anyway was it worth the extra tire width? Vs the added tire sidewall hight and weight difference.

Not exactly what you're asking, but I did this swap on 19x9.5 SVE wheels.

More grip, better launches, no longer spin towards the top os 2nd gear on the street with 3.73 rear end, and more comfortable ride. And I use mine at the track too and more grip there as well. So the answer is YES.

Thumbs up

Yes I did that, and very pleased with the results, great handling at the track, just a little more sensitive to road groves, no issues with my 3.73 affecting my first-second shift. My tires Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/40R19 mounted on my stock Brembo wheels 19x9. Highly recommended tire for DD and for some track time. No issues while driving over deep water, no increase noise, last long. Is a WIN-WIN for me

M3hunter I see you have aftermarket springs and shocks I assume you are lowered? Is there any problem with fitting 275/40/19 tires? Do they rub at all? Also with the added sidewall hight do they have a tendency to role more under hard cornering?

I'm lowered 1"front & about 1.25" rear, no issues. Go ahead if you want to lower. No role with the MPSS, they stick like glue. I went head to head VS a BMW M3 (V8). He did 29 secs lap VS 30 secs. of my car, what I lossed was my brakes they boiled even with stock brembos, but I gave a good fight.
