Any body know of a good place to get TPMS sensors for my 2012?


I know AM sells them for 40 each, but I am not thrilled about adding another 160 bucks to the price of my wheel/tire combo.

 

TireRack.com wanted $180 to add them to the wheels/tires I just bought...

 

I've seen take-offs on ebay for about $20 each.

 

Why don't the stock ones work?

If I wanted to pay someone to dismount (or at least break the bead on) my stock tires to get them out yeah they would work, but then I wouldn't be able to go back to those if I wanted.

 

$160 honestly isn't a bad price for them. eBay would probably be your best bet though.

 

Those should work. Just buy the tool to re-train them, it's like $20.

could you elaborate on this? they are not plug and play?

 

The sensors and valve stem are 1 piece. They would get installed in the wheels when the tires are mounted. Once on the car the re-training tool, which looks like a small remote control, will help the computer learn the new sensors. If you don't do this you'll get the tpms fault warning. I used a video off youtube that shows how to re-learn them with the tool, definitely helped! Some people claim they didn't need the tool, but I did with mine. Hope this helps.
