Article on Brembo brake package sales

Doing pretty good apparently. Although in the article it says that the rears on Brembo cars are 4 piston. They're single aren't they? Although they are painted black just like the GT500s.

Aren't the rear brakes exactly the same as the non-brembo models?

Also did anyone ever confirm if the suspension hardware is any different?

Lastly, if aside from the tires/brakes/wheels, the differences are merely electronic. Would it be possible to flash a non-brembo car up to those settings?

Yeah i have heard that the springs, struts, shocks, bars, trail arms, and steering is different. We need to have someone with a Brembo, and a non Brembo, take the codes off the parts to see. Ronn

According to the Canadian Order Guide, the brakes on the Brembo package are the same as the Shelby GT500. So what do the Shelbys have?

I read an article that said they are different. I test drove a 2011 GT with the Brembo package and the suspension felt a lot different then the car I ordered without it. The Brembo package made it feel too refined to me. Kind of like an Infinity G37 that I test drove. You might want to test drive both if you find both?

You found the suspension of the GT with Brembo too harsh or too soft?

The only parts I know that are different are the springs, aside from the brakes. Also, the ESC tuning and EPAS calibration are different for Brembo equipped cars.

I don't know exactly what the rear brakes are on the package either. On the Ford website, they don't list more details other than the wheels and front brakes.

Yeah I've been trying to get to the bottom of which parts are different on Brembo cars for a while now. You're right we know for a fact the springs are different, and I posted earlier that the LCAs on Brembo cars are painted silver as opposed to black like non-Brembo cars. When I test drove one on Monday is when I noticed that the rear brake calipers were painted black like those on the GT500. All of this leads me to believe that the parts are different, as I don't believe auto manufacurers would make such changes, no matter how small, for no apparent reason.

I've heard the rear calipers on Brembo cars were twin-pot, as opposed to one-pot on non-brembo cars.

Too soft, too isolated. It's one of the reasons I didn't go for the Infinity......

The rear brakes are the same, GT, GT Brembo, GT500, single piston calipers. Good possibility of different pads than a regular GT but the same calipers and rotors.
