Anyone paint their GT hood vents??
I'm thinking about this and wondering if others have painted theirs. It has to be professional. I'm used to some 'black' on the hood like the Shaker on my '07 GT/CS. I've been looking at photos and on-line images and I personally like the look of the black vents. Cost will probably determine this for me. I'll need to get an estimate. Anyone have thoughts on this from personal experience? I think matte or a semi-gloss would be better than high gloss. Again I'm thinking my Shaker which was certainly not glossy. The last photo shows one of the images with it done for comparison. It might be factory (CS).
I would go Organisol Textured Black it Looks Good. They Used it on Mopar Muscle Cars in the 60's Lift off Hoods. My 71 Challenger has it. I would Get an estimate at a Good Body Shop, Then Decide. Save some Bucks By Removing them yourself. I have seen Body shops Use Spray Paint to Do small jobs this, So Ask How they Intend to do it.
If Not the Textured I would Go Matte. BTMO!
Nope, but I have some other things going on up there that would not work for me. Have seen plenty of cars out there that look nice if is done right. Also have seen some carbon fiber replacements that might look nice too.

Yes something like that. Wow, spendy now. I don't remember how much they were, but not this much.
Here is one I was familiar with... But looks like they are not making them any more? Or maybe it is just special order. I would contact.them if you want a pair...
APR is out there a lot and sold by several sites, I not familiar with these guys but have not been looking for quite a while. I do not know anything about either of these company's reputations. I have heard of Trufiber for several years, but have not bought from them or have any references of someone who has. Look cool, but I am not willing to pay what they are asking. Painting Black might be more cost effective.

but the message I received in return gives me zero confidence. I simply asked if the installation was a reverse of the removal or was it more involved. This is the reply:"sorry but not sure how hard the install is on this as i personally have not installed one of these before"
So CarID has 1D10TDs on the phone…. I would make a call to APR Performance. Sure they can tell you. Did not see anything on the APR site about removal/install. But I am sure they would have to have something.

I really appreciate your assistance.
I just returned from my local paint shop (he is 3 years out with jobs) so he referred me to another local that told me $150 would get the vents painted in a flat black with clear coat for protection. That certainly is the way to go for me, and now I just have to decide if I permanently want to do this. There really is no going back with this color. Man, it 'pops' in the sun. I see why this color cost extra initially. No rush on this and perhaps a little more time to really let me think about it.
The Vert in the original pic is a California Special and they are UA Black from the factory. One more option is to find a set used off a Black car and use them UA Black without painting or to still paint them Flat black with the clear on them. Saving the originals in their GHIG factory splendor if you want to return it to stock.
Removing them is about the 5.55 mark in this video
