Anyone gotten a ticket yet in their new 5.0?
I decided in 1984 that I wasn't gonna give the state of Texas any more free money for speeding. Cruise control is good.
I did get nailed in 1992 or so for running a red light... barely... at 3:00am in a driving rainstorm in a '67 Mustang. I knew the brakes would lock up if I tried to stop and there wasn't anybody else even awake in town... except the popo around the corner.

I've never driven in Ohio but I sure have read a lot of stories about it. It sounds like the whole **** state is one big speed trap.
Yea in Ohio most of the time the police have nothing better to do . . . I've been followed and pulled over more times than I can count. Only two tickets though, both for stop signs, and neither in my Mustang.
Ohio Troopers
Michigan drivers say Ohio targets them. Nope. Michigan is 70 and seem soft on the limit as they wait for the 10 and over crowd to pull over for tickets. So you are use to running 75 to 77 in Michigan. Drop into Ohio where it is 65, now your 10 or more over. You will get pulled over.
Besides Ohio, there's one other state I intend to avoid driving through, if possible: Virginia. I passed through a corner of the state last summer and as soon as you cross the border you are greeted with one sign after another warning you about all the ways they intend to give you a ticket. And they are the one state where radar detectors are illegal. Furthermore, I'm guessing that whoever makes all of Virginia's road signs must be related to the governor or something. What a waste of taxpayer's money! I was only in the state for about thirty minutes but saw multiple signs warning that you can't make a left turn where you are merging onto a highway from the right. Maybe they should also put up some signs on the highway saying "Don't Back Up!" and "Don't jump from a moving car".

I got pulled over here in NOLA going to work. I was running late and was speeding, swearving in between traffic and the cops pulled up right behind me. I knew I was gonna get pulled over so got off. 2 cops got out. My 07 was freshly washed from the day before and 1 cop came and talked to me. I used the yes sir, and was polite. The other cop was walking around the car starring at it. lol They went back and ran my license, came back clean. The one cop looking at my car was standing in front and I gave him a little nod saying thanks. He returned the favor. They let me off with a warning. No tickets yet. Thankfully.
Intersesting story I will share. I bought my Mustang 1000 miles from home. On the way home I put the hammer down at times. I was used to a 90 hp S10 that was sick. I was in heaven with the new Mach 1
I got behind a county mounty from nowwheresville and followed him. We got to triple digits and I kept a very safe following distance. I was rolling on big time.
He hit the blue lights and it scared me to death. I backed off. He was increasing his speed in increments to test me anyway. The blue lights were in front of me for a change. I had my foot in the firewall big time. I broke in the Mach1 quick. LOL

This was years ago. He actually got a ticket.
No tickets for me either! But then again it's quite normal to cruise down the highway doin 100+ around here
In fact heading to the airport yesterday I had a Porsche tease me up to 120 before he shifted and took off.

I got pulled over two weeks ago at 5 am as I was rushing into work to deal with a problem. He clocked me going 68 in a 40 construction zone OUCH! He asked me why I was speeding and I told him about my work situation and then he asked me if the address on my license was up to date and I told him it wasn't. He came back and said he had to ticket me for something but he sympathized with my situation so he gave me a ticket for outdated address and gave me a warning for e speed. Needless to say I was more than willing to pay the $40 fine instead of the close to $500 for speeding.
on long island you would not be popular among the cars behind you lol
interesting to hear how strict the enforcement is in other states. we have a ton of red light cameras now too
