you have made a very common mistake. That is just the base of the antenna with no actual antenna screwed into it. The antenna is exactly the same as before. This came up with the V6 at the LA Auto Show as well. I wish it were short, but it isn't.

The antenna really bugs me too, there should be an aftermarket one that's a bit shorter. What i dislike as well is the absence of the Sirius delete antena on the tunk, that spoils the whole trunk as far as i'm concerned, unless you get a black car. Would be nice to get the antenna on the roof for the coupes without the sunroof option. oh well, can't have everything.
When they look at it when they take the antenna off don't they think it look betters too? like how could you not think it looks better without that stupid antenna there! do something about it ford!
They often remove antennas for commercials and brochures as well. The manufacturers know the cars look better without them.

I do agree about the satellite radio antenna, but I have yet to see a set-up on any car that doesn't have some form of a piece that looks "tacked on", even the ones where they are integrated in the area of the top of the rear glass.
