Another one bites the dust
Thanks for the input guys. I don't think the pics show the true magnitude of damage to the car. The whole front clip is about an inch out of wack. The doors "pop" when you open them. The entire passenger side strut tower area is collapsed.
There is another thread on here titled "one less" where the op was run off the road and hit a tree. His car didn't look much worse than mine. All his damage was contained to the front end and radiator support. No suspension damage visible in the pics and his car was totaled.
So I am hoping. Send positive energy! lol. I will let you know Monday night.

Glad to hear you are OK. New cars with airbags when used with seatbelts are lifesavers. If my '07 hadn't got totaled in 2010, I wouldn't be saving up for '13 Mustang now. All I got from this was a seatbelt bruise and a sore abdomen from the airbag. Was very sad to see my first new car end up like this.

Glad your O.K. My Mustang got hit in the rear quarter panel ($4,000 to fix) this past summer. I thought, if anyone ever hit 'Little Red', i would kick their butt
. When my wreck happened, my thoughts were, 'i was happy i didn't get hurt too bad'. Things (thoughts) change when it happens.
My Attorney is going to make it all worth while. "Little Red' is named in the law suit to be getting $10,000

Well I have been talking with insurance companies, collision shops, police and dealerships. Good news first. I have been cleared of responsibility for the accident other than the fact that I was there. I guess I can live with that.
My dealership has found me another car, amazingly it is just like mine except for a couple minor things like wheels and hood scoop. Major options and color is the same.
The insurance company "isn't quite sure" what the total of the damages are. Right now by visual alone it is 15K but he said he is sure it will be amended when they get it on a rack. So is it totaled, no, not yet anyway. I have initiated a Diminished Value Claim and again my awesome dealer is working to help me with this. The guy who hit me has the same insurance company I do so it will be interesting what they decide to do if they are paying to repair the car and the DV. Time will tell on that matter.
Either way repaired or totaled. I am getting the car the dealer found for me and swapping over my wheels and the other mods I put on the wrecked car.

Longer yellows & that delay would probably greatly reduce collisions. People would still do it though.

Its not about safety, its more about revenue generation for the city that contracts with some company to install them (and the company that installs and operates them gets the lion's share of the money that they generate).

**** man sorry to hear about the car. Glad you are ok, that is the most important. Cover your a*s, aches and pains can quickly turn into underlying issues.
Hopefully all works out the way u want it to.

Sorry to hear the bad news............I know how you feel!
My first new car was a 1989 Merkur XR4Ti (think Mustang SVO), I got hit almost head-on, drunk crossed the center line, I only had a little over 4,000 miles on her............
It was fixed but to me it was never quite the same.
Good luck and I know when its your first new car its a big let down.......

From what I've seen and read, red light cameras actually increase accidents, specifically rear end collisions. People slam on their brakes because they are afraid they will get a ticket going under a light, and people behind them slam into them.

Red light camera's causing more harm than good and its just a revenue maker, not a safety enhancement.

Although this wasn't my first new car, I've had many, it really sucks and you are dead on. That no matter what they do, they are never the same.
Just got word from the dealer. Should have the replacement mustang by the end of the week! YAY
Yes replacement is a '12 also! The sticker on the replacement car is a few dollars less because it doesn't have the appearance package #4 on it but it does have the BU camera. I won't be paying anything out of pocket thanks to increased incentives.
glad to hear it bro.... now get back out there on those Wisconsin roads!!! (p.s. I miss Appleton).
Almost there! Salesman went on vacation today for a week. My current car is going to be returned to me monday so I can trade it in. PLUS I got a $750 Private cash coupon in the mail today from Ford! That makes $3750 in rebates on the replacement car!
